Florida: After a car accident can the driver injured in the other vehicle sue the husband (wife was driving the at fault vehicle) for negligent entrustment? Wife & husband both on the car’s title. I understand they have dangerous instrumentality, but how can you say the car was “entrusted” to someone who has rightful legal title to it?

Isn’t the owner of the vehicle liable for damages in your state?

Both owners on title are liable I’d imagine.

Negligent entrustment is more of a theory of liability to attach damages, no? Should be moot unless statutorily it provides punitives or prevailing party fees.

But I’m inclined to agree (as a non-FL attorney) you cannot be negligently entrusted with your own property

How do I optimize payments throughout the duration of these loans? Is there an excel model/spreadsheet you can point me toward? (And does the crisis forbearance change the optimization equation?). If buy the partners you work with regularly a holiday gift, how much do you spend? Usually I get baked goods or food items which you can’t tell the actual amount spent on. This year, though, I’d like to support local restaurants by encouraging people to order takeout—hence, giving gift cards.

How much is appropriate for a restaurant gift card from an associate to a partner?

SC to M, promotion in CBO.

I was promoted to SC in Aug 2020, and milestone year shows 2024 (4 years).

Is this normal I thought SC-M was 3 years and 2 for an early promo.

Can anyone suggest if it's even possible to try to get promoted in 2 years? Just don't want to put in extra effort and getting disappointed later.

I need some thoughts on what to ask for a starting salary. My background is ten years in tech support, and currently Lead Graphic Designer for my department with about four years of graphic design behind that. I also just finished my master's degree in Human Computer Interaction design (and was among the top in my class). I thought $80k as an absolute minimum ask but considering my credentials and education I really don't want to undersell myself. I'd appreciate thoughts on the matter.

Headhunters/Recruiters…
I was contacted out of the blue by a headhunter last week promising to do their best to place me in an AMLAW200 firm as a lateral. (4 years practicing, all litigation; looking to move to transactional).
I’ve never dealt with a headhunter before, and I’m taking everything they say with a grain of salt, so insight as to their effectiveness, reliability, and overall successful placements in or equivalent to the type of firms they have connections with is greatly appreciated.

I lateraled from ID to BigLaw. I am finding that the staff upon which I must now rely are not nearly as knowledgeable, skilled and well-trained as those I worked with at my last firm. I am constantly correcting their mistakes and realizing they need a lot more supervision than my previous staff. I was once a paralegal, so I try to give as much grace as I can - knowing that we rise and fall as a team. But an error this week sent me over the edge and I'm beyond frustrated. Advice?

I just found out that an associate (same experience level) who billed fewer hours than me and had less collections got a 10k raise while I only got a 2.5K raise. She is in a different office, and her supervising partner is incredibly nice and understanding. My supervising partner is a total dick to everyone (not just me) and I got shafted. He obviously didn’t speak up for me at review. I feel like this is totally unfair and like I got overlooked. What do I do?
