UPDATE: I decided to go with fluted
Congrats and you made the right choice!
I would go with fluted. I see datejust as a dress watch and you can dress up the fluted bezel. The combo of fluted and jubilee surprisingly doesn’t look too busy. I also think smooth looks more sporty and is easier for scratches to show
This is the one for me. Could wear this every day for the rest of my life and need nothing else.

This is a 41mm. I have same but in oyster

The fluted bezel actually makes the 36mm look larger on the wrist (I have a 7.5” wrist), plus it hides scratches and dings much better.
A 36mm Datejust with fluted bezel on jubilee bracelet is classic and timeless.

Smooth looks too plain, fluted gives it that extra bit of luxury...
fluted or diamond

Get the 41 fluted with oyster. 36mm is so small
41mm is too big for everyday wear imo. Plus I want it to be subtle. Maybe my next watch will be 41

Fluted is always gold. Smooth is ways stainless.
Gold is for ballers 😎

No literally, if it's a fluted bezel it is always made from gold and if it's a smooth bezel it is always made of stainless steel. That's just a Rolex thing.
I prefer fluted.
