Consulting bowl I need your advice tonight. 5 YOE in corp finance (industry). Just got an offer for different finance (still industry) role - 50% raise to $165K TC plus two additional direct reports to me. However, I got my MBA to transition to consulting and am in beginning stages of two top consulting firms. I need to give an answer on the offer by tomorrow afternoon. What do I do? I am new to consulting. The work/project is fine, but I feel pretty out of place socially. I have trouble keeping up with conversation, I am slow to even understand what is going on around me and I feel I can’t “banter” - a lot of my inputs to conversations are “that’s great!” or “wow!” and share a bit of my perspective. But it feels like it brings the pace of the conversation down. Are there any “reps” I can do to get better at this style of conversation?
