Hi all! I’m an MBA Candidate with 3.5 years on H1B. What consulting firms are still hiring internationals among MBB and Big 4?
How is MBB Canada pay compared to US?
Anyone an experienced hire at MBB or know one? What was their experience like getting in?
Folks who moved from MBB to a top-tier tech firm (E.g. FAANG): how does the talent compare between the two?
Thoughts on Prosci or SHRM-SCP certification? Which would be considered more valuable or highly regarded? Currently focused on Change Management but have a HR background (industry experience / area of study in college).
What is the toughest challenge for a Consultant to transition from big 4 to MBB consulting? I was fortunate enough to get an MBB offer as an experienced Consultant and want to make sure I hit the ground running. Thanks! Bain & Company McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group
Need Advice: I recently cleared the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam which inspired me to go for one other cert in the cloud world. However, I am confused if I should go for the next AWS cert (Solutions Architect) vs Google’s Cloud Digital Leader cert? Can anyone recommend anything here? Goal is to move out of consulting asap and get into FANG. TIA!
20+ years in the military as HR Officer with training and education leadership experience. As I look towards transition to civilian sector I’m considering increasing tech experience to diversify my career and provide better options. Full of soft skills and management experience, but few tangibles. I’ve explored Trailhead, but I’m not sure system admin is right path. Any suggestions? 2+ years until transition. Possess a Masters in Leadership and SPHR cert.
Have you noticed different MBB Business Units treating candidates poorly? I.e. BCGs Gamma and Platinum will ghost candidates for weeks, while their Core BCG counterparts are handheld through process?
Applying for NYU One Year Tech MBA for May 2021 start. I’m currently making 120k. I can probably hit 200k in 5 years but I’m also 34. Is it worth it to get my MBA and pay 140k to work at MBB or FAANG?
Thinking of applying to MBA next fall after two years of consulting post-undergrad. 760 GMAT, 3.3UGPA, with a Master's Degree. Realistically, with only two years of work experience and a 3.3 GPA, are H/S out of the question? Am I out of the running for M7? And if so, how can I strengthen my application now for the fall? Should I wait another year or two?
I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
Generalist🐠at MBB: do corp dev roles at FAANG, or operational VC/PE roles, care that you were a “generalist” when exiting? I’ve been approached for data analytics roles at MBB (some specialized), but everyone tells me to go generalist when starting....
Need advice on whether or not to use an MBA consultant. Any opinions / thoughts appreciated! Situation: just turned down a promotion and quit my job because it doesn’t align with my career goals and was becoming a waste of time. Planning on spending the next 10 weeks studying for GMAT and applying for new jobs/volunteering, then applying R2 for 2021. I have a 3.9 GPA in a non-traditional major (French lit) from a “fake Ivy.” Only M7s I’m interested in are Kellogg and Sloan. (Cont.)
I have close to 9 years of experience with technology consulting across India and the US with Deloitte US( I was hired at the india offices of Deloitte US). I have been admitted to Ivey business school for 2023 batch. Post MBA, I want to make a move to management consulting as that was one of the biggest driving factor for me to purse an MBA. From my research I gathered that getting into MBB is extremely difficult due to very few openings. What can I do to boost my chances of getting into MBB?
Posted in Big 4 bowl but reposting here: Looking to move into a general Consulting Staff/Business Transformation/Strategy position mid-late 2022. Was eyeing a Summer/Fall 2022 Business Transformation Staff position at EY in particular, but it has dropped off. Any idea of when positions like that will typically open up across most firms? Want to get in early, open to any firm. I do not have an MBA, but I am client facing and work in commercial markets currently. TYIA!
Is it worth joining MBB firm? How does it impact your long term growth? Recently promoted to senior manager in tech consulting space and I am considering to take a paycut (about 50k) to join Mckinsey at post MBA consultant level. I want to hear feedback from MBB fish here. Most of my friends think it's a bad move..
If you come from non-target undergrad, will you eventually need to get a prestigious MBA to be a successful director/managing director in banking?
Interviewing for an internet startup (Raised Series C in 2019. 150-200 employees. Europe based. Sorry can’t disclose name for anonymity) for a ‘head of growth’ role reporting to a senior director. What can/ should I expect in terms of comp. 8-9 yoe in total. I understand the details are limited; therefore any high level pointers also welcome. Thank you.
It's health insurance season in the United States of "Every Person for Themselves." Is there a silver lining to a primarily coinsurance based plan, rather than mostly copays? This is a first for me.
Indians back in India want H1B & H4-EAD to be abolished. Naturalized Indians don't want immigration. Where should a person with aspirations go? Is it bad to have goals and ambitions with an Indian PP?
The two people at my client who are former consultants are literally the only people around here who have any idea how shit gets done.
Towers offer in hand from senior to manager equivalent. Same salary (mid 6 figures), lower cost of living. Worth it?
How many of you focus solely on halal investments? Where do you (which ETF or funds) do you put your 401k in? Where do you investment in stock market?
For a flight NAM - Bangkok, what airline is best (Emirates, Qatar, Ethiad) for status match with US airlines (Delta, United, AA)?
I currently work in a mid-size firm (top 20). Is it possible to go from a mid size firm to a big 4 firm? I know there is a lot of movement from big 4 to mid size/regional but don't hear a lot about
Been 2 weeks and I am tired of pumping. I only pump like 20-30 per session and 5x a time but each time it takes almost 1h from start to finish (lube the flange, gather the equipment, find a spot, find my water/food, pump, clean up and put stuff away) and I am not even washing them (hubby is doing that). What did you do to make it more efficient? Also I can't seem to figure my flange fitting. I follow the guidelines and the suggested one is more uncomfortable than a large size. Help.
Anyone exit into McMaster-Carr? How has your experience been so far? Include YOE & Comp if possible
Does anyone live in San Diego? What areas in/near downtown are safe and don't require a car? I'll be interning there for a few months
Would you say I'd be better off taking a product manager role at a young company 12 years old vs taking an offer in F500 as a strategy associate. Goal is to eventually own divisional P and L with shot at C suite
