It seems like it’s all they do tho - kinda want a variety of projects and industries

Yes, cause in consulting, as you grow in your career you need to specialize. So someone who is in the PM practice will do PM work just like how someone in PAS will do HC work and someone in SAP will do SAP work and not Salesforce. In any of those practices, you can still get exposure to different industries (if a retail company is going through change, the still need HC folks, the same way an oil company would although they nature of the change and the strategy behind the change might be different). Some practices you might need more hard skills, for example some of the system specific ones or for PM you’d probably need to be PMP certified.

Some days, I like it.... some days, I don't.

Coming from ACN, senior analyst, 3yrs total experience so far & wanting to get into the data analytics/BI work. Currently have had experience working with SQL developer, OBIEE/OBIA, Teradata in ERP and Healthcare projects. I also have my AWS Cloud Practitioner Cert, hoping to eventually get the Data Analytics Cert later. What are my chances of finding a role with another company that'll let me work in BI/data analytics and build up my skill at the same time? Been thinking of leaving ACN.

Recieved a good market adjustment months ago. Asked to apply for a position one level higher on another team. Current boss transparent he would block. After 5 weeks, new team offered zero comp increase promo (mngr wanted to give me much more but cant for 6 months). Current boss said I can request new role/salary and he will get it for me. Never wanted to leave company, but applied externally last week and likely to get offer. Should I even attempt negotiation with current?

I messed up and gave a target salary instead of range to a recruiter. She mentioned that she wanted the info to take back to hiring managers. I've already been through two round of interviews and my last one is just a mock client presentation otherwise I would try and say "after learning more about the role my range has changed". I don't think I can spin that now.

Can I clean this up in an email to her tactfully before she shares numbers with the team? If so, how? TY!

Advice on reporting to a manager that has lesser/equivalent experience?

Context: I’m an L2 working in paid search with ~3 years of experience, the role above mine (L4, requires 5-7 years of paid search experience) has been vacant for 7+ months. New boss will start in September, Linkedin stalking has revealed that they only have ~3 years of total agency experience and only 1.5 in paid search.

I love my team and don’t really want to quit, but I’m feeling upset and turning to fishbowl for advice!

I like the industry, but don’t like my role, especially as I move up career ladder (AS->AD). Any advice on what type of roles I should explore within the agency world or elsewhere that would match my skillset, which is basically managing and delegating? Experiencing a major career crisis, realising I don’t want to be my boss anymore and want to live a normal life that doesn’t require a therapist. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

The main partner I work for is constantly trying to set “legal traps” to see if I fall into them. For example, he ask me a specific legal question (to which he already knows the answer) to see if I am able to deliver. I’m so nervous now (this has been going on for over a year) that I often end up falling into his trap by doing (stupid) mistakes. What do you advise me to do? My self confidence is slowly getting destroyed. This does not happen with other partners.
