Really? I feel like I see layoff news or rescinded offers news on the daily.

Most of the layoffs in tech are in ancillary roles - HR, marketing, sales etc Core engineering roles are left alone.

Need genuine guidance from the people who were able to switch into completely different tech after having 6 years of exp in one field. I am working on sap ABAP and having 6 years of exp in it. But every day i hate working in this tech. The way of doing simpler things is really complex in SAP, it frustrates me a lot. Every day feeling of forever remained stuck in sap abap is making me anxious and restless. With this long exp i am not into traditional programming skill required for other fields.

But I have interviewed at several big name pe shops and make a few rounds on interviews but then get the same feedback that they are worried about my lack of operational experience.
