I wouldnt go to a non JD required job. Closes a lot of doors.

I have zero regrets (in-house), but I do occasionally miss complex and in depth brief writing. I also miss how “exciting” some of the matters were that I worked on. Other than that, 100% happy with my move.

Hi All,

I will be joining LTI as a PMO shortly. Had few questions, are they offering any asset like laptops, headphones etc. as they are still on hybrid model, if yes, will be handed over to the employees or owned by company itself. Also, what's the average hike an employee gets in a year.

Your reply would be highly appreciated

My skier friends (those who go skiing a lot)

Tempted to rent skiis for the season (already have a ski pass for the season)

Is $250 for the season a good price? For the entire package (somewhat used skiis). I think this cheaper and better than individually renting.

I recently switched to a more technical data analyst role from a project & people management role. While I was well versed in generating insights from prepared reports, I am finding my current analyst role very challenging. It has been 4 months in this role and I am feeling lost most of the time. I can't pinpoint which factors are making me feel so incompetent. I am looking for people to talk to who could help me understand my current roadblocks.

So, I started watching “Limitless” with Chris Hemsworth. Apparently, he found out he carries both genes for dementia which puts him at a higher risk. So the series is about him changing things in his life for longevity. The third episode is about fasting and he fasts for 4 days until the day he has to hunt for his food. Does anyone in healthcare have thoughts on this type of fasting? I know it is done in some cultures and religions, but to what extent?

Don’t want to add to many details, but starting to piece some stuff together. He seems like an amazing guy otherwise & treats me great with so much respect, and both he and his family seem pretty wealthy. Never have been taken care of like this before. I like him a lot but obviously 👀

Is it “unprofessional” or otherwise bad for a career for a firm attorney to start a YouTube channel unrelated to their work? Do the in-house folks here care whether outside counsel makes YouTube videos? Assuming nothing controversial or otherwise offensive in the YouTube content. Considering making an educational YouTube channel about how to think more critically (like a lawyer) and analyze debates/issues, whether political or not, like ads, public disputes, etc. No legal analysis or research.

Some legal advice would be helpful (I’m a transactional attorney). A friend’s cousin was charged with a crime 20 years ago and deported by the federal govt. He was also charged by the state at the time, but as he was deported, he could not appear for a state hearing and was apparently charged with failure to appear. Yesterday he tried traveling to Mexico and was put in a holding cell and denied entry to the country, in part due to the open warrant. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I’m looking for some salary advice. I’m a third-year associate at an ID firm in SF, making $120,000 per year. I’m mostly doing products liability and construction defect cases. I don’t have a JD, but I got my LLM from a T14 school. I bill between 180-200 hours per month. I feel like I’m being underpaid for the work I’m doing, but I’m not really sure. Any comparisons or insight would be great.

Getting away ahead of myself here, but a college friend is now a CEO at a rapidly growing tech company (just raised $50m in VC funding) and he approached me about an in house role at his company. He told me interviewing would largely be a formality. Interview is to take place first week of January. Bonus gets paid in early February, meaning the soonest I would be able to leave is late February, meaning the soonest I could start is early March. This timing doesn’t work. Do I forgo the bonus?

Partner at an ID firm. I bill 2000 per year. I get stuck doing this crappy flat fee work. The flat fee cases are such a time suck and my firm charges way too little for the time they take. So these flat fee cases really hurts my ability to generate as much profit as others. Anyway to approach this????
