yes and yes
Yes. It personally and financially enriched my life.
Second this. Was in consulting both before and after. The financial returns were good (I went when I was on the younger side with only 3 YoE so I got about a 70% raise when I came back) but the experience and personal growth was really the part that was priceless for me
Best $175k I’ve ever spent in my life. Seriously.
What school?
You need to ask people that we’re in consulting pre MBA. I wasn’t and my salary went up 3x pre and post MBA so def worth it for me. If I was at or a level below the post-MBA role and happy with my firm, probably not worth it.
Edited - thank you!
Yes and yes. I was a few years into consulting at a small boutique (left at a level between post UG and post MBA). Was able to intern in a new space, and go back to consulting at a more prestigious firm at a higher level with 60% TC increase. Target an elite school; getting an MBA somewhere below top 25 isn't worth it.
Yes, but would be much harder to justify without sponsorship
Yes, I know a person in my firm got the sponsorship and decided to go to the MBA (somewhere far away, in a nice city) as a soft LOA :-)
Yes. I am a better manager today than I was 3 years ago, I have a great support network of people that I care deeply about (and care for me), and I was able to focus on what I give a shit about for 2 years (which is paying dividends today). I was “sponsored” btw.
