Following a thread on PCR: what’s the best lab for fast PCR results to fly internationally? (Needed for work)

Yeah unfortunately urgent care places are the easiest. It cost me 50 bucks w/o insurance.

Depends where you’re flying from and to. Several countries nowadays are no longer requiring a negative test if you’re fully vaccinated.

Other places which still do require a test (like the US) might accept a rapid antigen test, which is a third of the cost of the PCR and will also be faster.

Either way both these tests are done by a wide array of labs and/or pharmacies for international travel, so I wouldn’t worry as much about which lab did and more about timing of the tests (e.g. US requires the test to be no more than a day before travelling, whilst other countries may require it 72 or 48 hours before).

It does require for a couple of countries where COVID cases are still relatively high (i.e. Brazil). Overall though, testing requirements have largely gone away.

Thank you Associate 1, I hear you. Just not my case here.

For everybody else visiting the thread: I’m flying out to a country that requires a PCR test and have be mandated by HR to do one and provide results before flying.
If some fishies are willing to share a place where they had a good experience/fast result with a RT-PCR test please do let me know here. I’m new to the city and they’re are many many places and not all of them have reviews.

LabQ and/or LabWorQ. They both have those mobile testing locations set up all over the city. I did the RT-PCR test at both locations on 6/13, the results came out just around 24 hours. I needed it for international travel as well. They’re both free. 200% recommend!

How old do results need to be? Is a rapid antigen ok or PCR definitely necessary? CVS has appts online and public hospitals are quick with turnaround.

Seconding the hospital advice, specifically NYU Langone Health. You have to call and become a patient of theirs but then it’s very easy to book a testing appointment online and after testing I always got my official PCR results online within ~6 hours.

LabQ

Wouldn’t do LabWorq or ClearMD - their turnarounds and refunds (for ClearMD, if you need) are really unreliable

I’m six weeks and have either a yeast infection or UTI (been awhile since I had either and symptoms since last night can go either way). 1) there were obvious favorites (coaches are not even hiding that fact);
2) some can’t even play and got on the team,
3) some that can obviously play but did not get on the team;
4) decision were obviously made before the first day was over.
