True or false? I still do this....

Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

“Great layoff” lmao what….so few people have been laid off that it doesn’t even register as a blip in our national jobs report
What data are you using to suggest there are massive layoffs? 12k people form Facebook? 3k people from Twitter? Come on. I remember July 2020 when 11 MILLION people were laid off.
Back in reality, the labor market is the tightest it’s been in 50 years. Companies can’t hire enough talent. My company just doubled the referral bonuses because we can’t get enough people
I think the difference here is the layoffs are hitting the highest earners in the country, so it feels like it shaving quite a bit off the top. I agree with you it’s not that bad but for it to be happing to the people it’s happening too I think shocks people since everyone has been jealous of them for years
Great layoff?
Oh you sweet summer child.
Regards, 2008
Great Layoff lol. Bruh… record low unemployment; it’s only one part of one sector that’s not doing hot.
Depends on the situation. If you work in manufacturing / distribution the power is absolutely still shifting towards the workers. Direct labor is super competitive, probably the most it has been in 40 years.
Amazon may be offering buyouts to corporate employees but they’re still stealing all of my clients’ workforce and forcing them to pay far more.
For example, in many parts of the country you could hire forklift drivers for $14/hour in 2019. Now, good luck finding one for under $18, and most shops are paying $20. It’s probably a good thing the working man seems to finally be catching a long overdue break.

Yes is what I was referring to. Long hours/inability to take off properly.

And some still think they can wfh or will quit
Lol
Good luck replacing them. The labor market has t been this tight since 1976. There is a massive labor shortage nationwide and companies can’t find enough talent
What are you complaining? WFH is such a luxury.
Costs less, produces more, drives higher morale…..like…..what
Over exaggerating much?
Get ready for a mandatory get back to office 5 days a week order soon
More like companies canceling fancy leases to save money making full RTO impossible
The people in those tech layoffs will land on their feet fine. There is still much demand for their skills in other industries.
Probably a medium term economy boost for that reason
Payback?
Rising Star
As long as workers accept less than they should, companies will always have more power than they should.

The Great Layoff? This is affecting one sector. A sector that has needed correction for a long time. Currently it’s a small percentage, but since it’s happening amongst the biggest players, it’s newsworthy. The coming months will tell a truer story.
You have no idea what a “Great Layoff” really looks like. Even if they have to lose getting RSUs, special perks, and accept a pay cut, there are still companies where those laid off can get hired. Try getting laid off, no one is hiring, and people are fighting for entry-level and minimum wage positions and flooding the fed/state job boards who also were paying less than what those workers were used to receiving. They certainly weren’t getting these severance packages either.
I could go on about “great layoffs” but instead say I hope the tech realignment remains just that. Once the fat is trimmed, the leeches are removed, and new focus/vision put in place, things can stabilize and growth can continue at a sustainable pace.
