For a fresher who’s negotiating salary for a L1 starter sales job, can he ask HR to offer as per industry standards? Or should you always give a range?

My boyfriend of 3 years makes about 2.5x my salary (I also have student loans and he doesn’t). He thinks we should continue splitting expenses 50/50 (rent, groceries, date nights, etc). This is someone I plan on marrying, and I’m financially savvy but feel like I’m SO behind with my means/money goals compared to where he’s at. Curious to know how others approach shared expenses with their SOs? I’ve gotten a lot of mixed advice on this from friends and would love to hear more opinions.

I know this is already a lot and I am super privileged, but I still struggle with comparison. I have no interest in being a SWE but I still struggle with the lesser money I make. How do I deal with this apart from aspiring for higher paid professions?

Started a new job a year ago, high performer. My manager suggested a promotion to Product Manager since that‘s the work I’m doing, but that would be a 50% raise. Higher ups decided instead to make a “new role” (not PM), that has no analog in the company and is hard to price via Glassdoor, etc. I feel like this is to limit my promotion salary to something like 10% from where it currently is. Is there anything I can do? FWIW: I have a PhD from top 5 program and am working in that field. Thanks!

I'm putting myself back in the job market, and I'm seeing new titles pop up at other consulting firms / accounting firms. Does anyone know what the equivalent title is of Senior Director at Eisneramper, compared to PWC or EY or Accenture? Is a Senior Director the same as a partner, Managing Director, Senior Manager? The job descriptions of similar titles don't indicate if its a client facing position or internal.
