For a long time I thought BDE meant “Best Day Ever” so when ever I would be given lots of work to finish with a deadline that was few days away, I’d message my team members complaining but I’d add BDE in the end 🥴. Then one day one of them asked me if I knew what BDE meant I said yes and told them what it meant. They corrected me and explained what it REALLY meant.🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Hello, I have a question that needs your inputs how to handle. I am working with a post-MBA Associate on a project and this person seems to do extra work beyond what the team is asking the rest of us to do. Looking for advice:
My dept has 2 directors. One is so rude. The other ignores the issue. The previous HR director told me to report any issues because she was building a case (not appropriate info to share, I know). She's since left and there's a new HR director. This rude guy has recently sent me several very rude things through email and I'm debating how to handle it. Is it worth it to talk to HR? Im worried it'll just make things worse since none of it is "wrong", just rude and insensitive.

I’ve been in a smaller firm for a month or so now, and I am struggling to find allies or even collegiality. I have had multiple conversations with other associates who shit talk each other, and say things like A: “don’t talk to B because they don’t know anything…come to me instead” then hear things about A never having peoples backs/stabbing people in the back. It’s making the actual “working” part of the job so tedious because I never know who to go to for help without making myself vulnerable.

A partner put me in charge of a specific project that I ran independently. Things were going well. The client began asking me to do more and more, including revamping their system and internal trainings. The client even gave me a litigation matter. Suddenly, the partner became more involved. I was removed from meetings concerning the revamping, my trainings were cancelled, and he started micromanaging. He has now sidelined me from the project and trash talked me to the client. I am very upset.

Anyone else struggle with the Managing Partner and Officer Manager duo that creates a toxic environment? Even more so, they are married and do not understand that the cultural issues in the office are largely created by them?
