For a SE with industry experience, is an MS/MBA program worth it (as compared to a regular MBA)? My goal was to acquire business skills to start something of my own. I feel like an MS in CS is mostly meant for someone pivoting into the field with no experience. But part of me thinks it could be good if I want to get into technical management. The other part of me things that inevitably, one degree (the MS or MBA) will go to waste depending on what I do after graduating.

If your only goal is to gain some business skills, why invest in MBA. There are several entrepreneurship based post grad courses which would be cheaper while also imparting specific skills. On the plus side, you save on cost thus more capital to infuse in startup, networking with mates with same entrepreneurial mindset and chances of being absorbed / referral to incubators if any with tie-ups.

Totally agree with your thought process and yes top tier degree holds value and comes with perks. However, this is what I feel, when it comes to business and startups, the value which is generated is weighed more than the alma mater of the founder. For example, bitcoin, not everyone understands it, but many wants a share for it’s value.

No doubt top tier school opens opportunities for connections, however, you could achieve the same by bringing in value and growth with your startup.

Hi Team,

I joined Mindtree on 8th Feb and not got project and I was waiting for last 2 and half month. So, i gave interview outside (tech mahindra) and got selected. Almost 30-35% they said they will give and i am negotiating on it.

My main concern was shift and i have some health issues and unable to continue in night shift in Mindtree and tech mahindra its purely EMEA shift and per project team update.

Shall i switch to tech Mahindra?

I have an extremely difficult colleague that I cannot work with. He answers my questions with completely tangential information and i have to repeat questions multiple times before he answers them, easily the poorest communicator I have ever worked with.
