Wanted to post on here to get advice. I am dating a guy that I love very much but he is atheist. This is something that bothers me since I was raised Catholic and my whole family is Catholic. cont..

Hi friends — I’m pretty sure a JLC is my next piece, but I can’t decide between two similar models. I’m hoping to get your votes/opinions in the comments.

Hi ,

I have 8+ years of experience as Informatica ETL developer. Currently serving my notice and having less than 30 days notice. Kindly let me know for any openings.

I need help thinking of things to do with my students for the last week of school because they made us turn in our ipads already!!! What can we do on paper????

Wow, we are up to 53 silent members! 👏

Has anyone done Audible or similar audio recording for books? Tips/tricks? How much did you make starting out? Was it worth it?

Tips on negotiating a raise! I’m no where near the timeframe for one(only been there just over 90 days), just want to be prepared for when that meeting comes up at the one year mark 😅

Used to have a career with a. Union, this was never a concern till now LOL

I’ve done dry January and a lot of weight melted off. I was already shooting to keep it going through to March. For super lean people (borderline Instagram models), do you still drink alcohol after your 20s? I remember a male stripper in Vegas told me he only drank a shot of vodka once a year 😂 and that was the extent of his drinking, but he looked great.

What tools are you using at your company to manage advertising? Do you like it?

How do you transfer offices when you've worked <1 year? And is there ever a salary adjustment?

Anyone looking for a sublet in Wicker Park? 1 bed 1 bath available until March (can be extended).

How much should i expect ?

Can a KPMG Advisory Associate Director in India get paid 45lacs INR in fixed compensation? How's the range for fixed compensation and bonus at that level?

Any advice for someone getting divorced. To clarify my sister is getting divorced and it seems like it could be pretty civil but you never know.

"Count blessings/be positive/life is what you make it" peddlers: negative feelings are not chosen, this isn't a flippable switch and self-help comments definitely won't help if all the books haven't.

Can anyone explain North West mutual to me? What is their true business model? Sounds like a pyramid scheme similar to Primerica.

Additional Posts in Tax Bowl

Just found out that Deloitte U.K. (London office) new managers total compensation is £59k ($78k) plus a discretionary annual bonus of up to £3k ($4k). In Tax, seems to be higher in consulting. Surely this cannot be right?

Fine the pension seems great I would have an 8% contribution and the firm matches that 100%, 25 days annual leave which apparently you are encouraged to take, but only earning $78-82k as a manager in London?

Anyone used PwC’s dedicated financial advisors for investment strategies? Any thoughts?

I'm currently completing a tax LLM (as a foreign trained lawyer) but considering pursuing a JD. I'd like to do it part-time while working. Which firm/service line gives me the best chance to do both? Also, is part-time Big4 work even a thing?

Anyone take the EA exams after working a few years? Wondering what the studying commitment is given several years of experience.

Hopefully everyone gets this weekend to rest in preparation for the 10/15 madness that has already started creeping up.

Honestly I just want to scream out into the void that I hate that overtime is expected and/or required in public accounting and increasingly in industry too. I don’t think it makes me lazy to want to want to limit my work to 40-50 hours and spend the rest of my time sleeping, working out, with loved ones, etc. There’s too many wonderful things to do in life to spend 55+ hours a week year round working.

Huge push for tax experienced hires at PwC. If anyone’s interested in senior associate + positions, let me know!

If you get an offer from a competing firm, is it a bad idea to ask your current firm if they’d be willing to match?

Just curious whats the starting salary the big4 give to fresh graduate JDs?
Tax groups, northeast region.

Anyone here taking the online bar exam next week? For those who have taken the exam, how was your experience taking it?

Just applied PwC! Let's see if they are actually working this week. :)

What software does each firm use for tax, work paper files, fixed assets, etc? Please respond with firm and city if not the same across all locations. Also appreciate if you like it or not and if not what would you prefer.

Currently in IM tax, thinking to transfer to international tax services, any thoughts? Pros and Cons are welcome!

I’ve been managing a large stressful project since September last year. I need a break and although the project is almost done busy season is starting up again. I don’t hate my firm but physically don’t have it in me to be stressed until 10/15. So I am thinking of leaving the firm and seeking a delayed start date. Has anyone done this successfully?

Any insight on PWC's ITS group NYC office? Interview with partner for senior position next week

I have an offer for a tax manager at EY. Coming from a mid-tier PA. Anybody who had the same experience who would like to share? Did you regret the jump?

Has anyone either been laid off or just switched from Big4 during covid to corporate? Was it difficult? did you still receive a raise? If so, how much?

I have absolutely no desire whatsoever to work today.

Experience or school pedigree?

People always say Big Four audit is a more logical path to CFO, controller, etc. than tax. Any other typical (or atypical) career paths from Tax?
