For an approx. 1,000sq. ft. house with 1 floor+basement, is central AC or mini-split system better in terms of efficiency and costs? The house has no existing ductwork - previously used window units. Also looking for re-sale attractiveness

You’d have to get quotes on the cost. Putting in ductwork can be challenging depending on your house and crawl space, but mini splits need to be on an exterior wall attached to a compressor so maybe not work for your layout.

I’d say central would be more attractive for resale, but you need a number of quotes to compare

My mom bought a second property and it went up by 200 K so she’s now looking to refinance it. She’s asked to put my name on the mortgage as my dads credit is not the best. She has and still will be paying the mortgage payments. Also, when I do plan on buying my first house years from now she said she will remove my name from the mortgage so it doesn’t affect my credit and sell the property if I need help for the down payment. I trust my mom and I do want to support her but is this a good idea?
