Any consulting moms on a part-time (~3 day) schedule? I’m planning to go part time, let me know if you have any advice such as which days are best to work vs take off, how you make sure work progresses, how you avoid having to work on your days off, while still meaningfully contributing on a part-time schedule.
I’ve heard a ton about business salaries in the other bowls. Interested in where everyone is with engineering backgrounds. Degree, YOE, Industry, Salary
Honestly seeing agency founders and creatives beg for votes for the webbys is such a turn-off. Oh so you’re like ADMITTING that this award means nothing and it’s a popularity contest? Tight.
I've completed the salary discussion round with hr. However I haven't heard back from them. I have reached out and they say they'll get back to me soon. Should I be worried. I have not received the soft copy of the offer letter.
Currently certified in AWS (CCP, SAA, and Security) and GCP (Security Engineer and Cloud Architect).
Any recommendations on Azure certs to pursue?

I want to get the unique values in a column of cities (say column B:B) but only for cities that, in the region column (A:A), are Europe or Asia
What’s the best way to combine UNIQUE and FILTER to do this? Thanks
Sounds like a good plan
Can anyone honestly say if the CPA is necessary or not? I’m burnt out from undergrad and grad school and can’t see myself studying for the CPA for a while…but don’t want to get fired. I don’t plan on staying until Manager, hoping to move into IB.

Additional Posts in Asians in Consulting
Have a question to Asians here. I’m mid-30s from Asia and am making lower end of 6 figures currently. My older sister was making more than I did until a few months back and lost one job due to covid so is now not making much. But she is married and has a house and a car of her own. She spends a lot of money on herself and buys gifts to her boyfriends/lovers. I just found out mom is going through major surgery in my home country and it costs nearly 6k. I asked if she wanted us to help her pay.
I felt confused when I saw Buttigieg’s name on the speaker list at DNC convention and no name of Yang anywhere. (Pointing PB out because he was mayor of South Bend, elected with very few votes). The speaker list was long.. so many people yet not a single Asian American was there. I was so confused. And some people said Asians are not in their head because Asians do not fit their box. I am glad he said something about it and got added but feel not so great he was omitted initially.. meh 🙄
For our Republican voting Asian family - please take a look at this zero cost resolution the next time you cast a vote.
I have worked 6 years in the midwest and have found it nearly impossible to built mentorship and strong work relationships with senior white people (both genders) above age 45 who are US born and bred, the WASPy kind. I can never find a way to network into their "groups". Yet I've been able to build awesome relationships with senior people and mentors who are Indian, Asian, Brown and European white. Is this in my head, or have some of you experienced the same?
Not a happy post, but here to seek the Asian perspective/advice. The story is: I was raised by my grandparents in China while parents came to the US. When I was 10 I moved here to be with parents, when they neglected me for years (no food in house, dad left us for a bit, etc). When I started working, parents started emotionally manipulating me for money. I finally cut them out of my life. My grandparents don’t understand why I refuse to see them, it’s created a strain in my relationship…cont
How many of you still live at home? Have a great relationship with my mom and would honestly consider moving back home to invest aggressively in this market, but dad is still stuck in the mindset of I got my bread from nothing you should do the same. Not sure how to conversation as well. Mid-20s male for reference
For those going to therapies, how do you find therapists that can accommodate our schedule? I feel it’s impossible to schedule sessions during the week 9-5 but I’m yet to find one that offers early evening/ weekend time
Congratulations to Garry Tan for being named the next president of YC.
Anyone else quarantining with their parents/family and going insane? Can’t handle mom’s verbal abuse to me and my dad much longer
I’m starting my first job as a new grad tmr in an industry role (ignore my title that was years ago at an internship). This is an experienced hire role so they probably will not “babysit” me even though I’m a fresh grad. What are some useful advice or keys in being successful for your first job? Any insights in particular to industry roles? What about for new grads starting in non-new grad roles? Thanks a lot

Any advice for how to respond to the interview question that I've received a lot and not answered well IMO "this job is tough. Long hours. How do you plan on coping when times get really tough?"
-support system (family)
-keeping long term goal in mind. With a why you can survive any how
-part of the process
Don't love my answer though any advice appreciated. These are for PE/IBD/Consulting roles
Interested in hearing from Gen Z individuals who can provide color on the following statement:
“Only 19% of Asian Americans between the ages of 18 to 24 completely agree that they feel they belong and are accepted in the US.”
Jfc this is insane
LAGUNA WOODS, Calif. (AP) — A gunman in deadly attack at California church was Chinese immigrant motivated by hate for Taiwanese people, authorities said.

Anyone here have parents with small businesses? I understand the language barrier, but my dad refuses to apply to loans / grants because it’s too much work. I am more than willing to help, but he has such a dismissive attitude and expects me to do magically do everything.
Parents are expecting me to front the money for tickets to Vietnam for them + my brother (3k+) saying they’ll pay it back “when they can” (cont)
