For anyone missing a whiteboard while WFH: I picked up a big dry erase mat from Staples that I mounted on a wall. It doesn’t clean off as easily as an actual whiteboard but it does the job. They also make whiteboard paint you can put on your wall. The best one is made by a company called “remarkable” but it isn’t cheap.

It may not be cheap, but they get my love for that flawless wordplay.

Another option is chalkboard paint that you can find at Home depot. And something I recently discovered is ‘non-adhesive magnetic chalkboard stickers’ - google that and options for online retailers come up

Thanks!

They sell whiteboards too!

Or you could just use Miro and get with 2020

There is room for both. Sometimes you need the tactile feedback of your hand on the board. Especially if you draw. Mural is great, but don’t be so quick to look down your nose at anything not digital. The world is not binary.

First year attorney struggling with my mental health (& suicidal ideation). Got a job at a boutique firm right after law school in 2019 (in an area of the law I had no interest in but bills) and then the pandemic hit and I did not feel supported by the firm while WFH. My mental health declined as did my work product and I’m essentially being let go by the firm. Really struggling with thoughts of being a failure and like maybe I’m just dumb and someone mistakenly let me graduate law school.

I recently met someone in another country where I’m working remote. He asked me to be his girlfriend but I’m moving in about a month. He doesn’t want to do distance unless I move back (which is an option with remote work, but visas are tricky). I really like him but don’t know if I’d be able to move back here between work/borders/etc. Do I keep seeing him and just try to enjoy the now? A part of me just feels so sad about leaving and breaking up. Idk if it’s worth it.

Anybody tempted by (rumored) six-figure signing bonuses, special bonuses, and full-time remote work being offered by BigLaw firms? Or is everybody “been there, done that” and never going back to BigLaw? For M&A/corporate transactions, this seems like the best time to re-enter BigLaw (midlevel / senior associate / counsel / Junior partner). The grass is “greener” (with cash), but surely still growing on toxic chemicals.

Hello Fishes, I have recently cleared the interviews in Deloitte USI. I had my salary negotiation, 9 days after the last interview. After this, suddenly I had received a mail asking me to submit my personal details on the Avature website, in which I am not able to log in. Reached out to HR, but not getting the link. The team who will release the OL told I need to submit those details, for them to generate and release my OL. Anubody facing this issue or having a suggestion for me?

Did I screw myself by being the first person to bring up salary figures with a startup? I tried to hold firm and make sure they said ballpark range first before I said if those align with my expectations, but she gave a vague “it depends on market, but I can give you a broad range from $45k-$90k for the role.” So I responded with $70k-$80k. Should I have asked for the highest range then of $80k-$90k? Worst case scenario, I don’t want it being revoked.
