It’s pretty wild how much Big 4 demonizes people who leave. Even worse if you’re looking to jump to a competitor. It’s never that serious
I am planning to do masters in cybersecurity . I migrated from India where I did my under grad. 35 M working as M at Big 4 with 12 YOE and making 170k. I feel doing a masters from US will add to my knowledge and some brand value to my education space in my resume . Any good school recommendations for online masters ? Was thinking between CMU , Berkeley , Georgie tech . Would prefer something that doesn’t need GMAT, less than 100k total tution and good brand name . Thank you. !!!
How is tech consulting in big 4 different from other consulting firms like ibm, capgemini etc?
I am currently working at a big 4 in Strategy and Business Transformation practice. I recently came across the job of a S&O Manager role at Global Business Strategy. TBC
Have a few B4 interviews coming up in a HOL city. Currently an S3 at a middle market firm with 2.5 years of FDD experience.... what do you think the highest salary and sign on bonus I can negotiate is? Also do these firms typically ask for proof of your current pay?
A friend of mine from the Big 4 is leaving to go for his PhD this fall. I actually have considered doing that myself at some point. How much demand is out there for professors in the next 5-10 years?
Decided that I’m leaving audit today. Trying to understand the full range of opportunities in forensics. Will have my CPA and CFE. So far, I understand that there are client-serving firms like FTI and then the B4 will have forensics arms as well. What are some other forensic accounting roles? Pros and cons? Better than audit? Honestly just looking to learn anything.
When you explain to your non-accounting friends what the Big 4 is and they say, "oh sounds like the Ivy League for accounting firms" >>>>
Do B4 have any short-term training/working programs that's easy to get in so i can join and gain experience to get a job at B4 later?
Ex-Consulant here that now works for a big name Real Estate Investment Trust. Saw on LinkedIn that EY has an America’s REIT Leader. Didn’t know that much attention was paid to the REIT space. Are there really consulting teams dedicated to the REIT space in the Big 4? Love working for a REIT and would love to jump back to consulting if there were teams dedicated to the industry. EY Deloitte Accenture PwC KPMG
I’m doing a video interview tomorrow with another big 4. If it was in the office, I’d wear a suit. It’s not obviously so what do I wear?
Is Deloitte consulting more demanding than other Big 4 consulting arms? (Technology consulting specifically)
What are the biggest differences between working in big 4 consulting versus working for someone like Bain or McKinsey? Thanks!
Anyone work for a company that went public? What was you’re experience like and how does it compare to B4 in terms of hours, learning, etc.? Did you feel like it opened up opportunities after the fact?
I just moved to a foreign country and I am really in need of a job. I applied to a big 4 and spent weeks making it through interviews only to get turned down, because they wanted someone with big 4 experience. How can I get big 4 experience if a big 4 isn’t willing to hire me? I feel defeated.
$45 an hour freelance job that might last 1-12 months, or $25 an hour full time position? (I have to stay a year at the full time place to make it 25, there's a bonus. Without the bonus its 20/hr)
Does anyone use Wit and Wisdom in their classroom, and have any advice? What are the pros and cons? We will be rolling it out in August.
MBB 🐠 I’ve heard that your firms generally only keep the top 20% of newer resources after 2yrs. How true is this? How likely is it for someone to get counseled out at the 2yr mark?
After giving 2 weeks notice, when do the medical benefits end? End of 2 weeks or end of month? What if the company terminates you immediately?
While switching companies, can we get the H1B visa transfer approved and still work for the old company for 2 months?
This is such a basic question, but what’s the best way to give my two weeks and not have things be completely awkward at work? I’m leaving to do the same type of work, but at a firm that I worked for in law school and that I know has a much better culture. My boss has a tendency to be passive aggressive towards people that are leaving and given that my office is right next to hers I’m worried my last two weeks are going to be so uncomfortable. Suggestions/advice?
Does anyone have insight about the culture of the higher ed practice at Accenture? Is it a good place to work? How is the team? What is the workload like?
Are there going to be layoffs .....
For those that travel almost everywhere Week. How many points do you guys make a year on your airline and hotel? Trying to estimate the value of the perks we get in our job.

Good luck to those who are going into their first busy season! Yes, it’s daunting at first - we’ve all been there (albeit, not in a remote environment amidst a pandemic.) My best advice is to take one day at a time (marathon, not a sprint). Remember audit/tax/consulting is not life or death, and you WILL make it through. Have patience with yourself and your teams. Find a mentor! Don’t forget you can always find some moral support (read: self-deprecating humor) in your fellow fish!
HCOL (SF) M3 salary of $155k as a high performer. 7 YOE. Is this a little low or in line with market?
Anyone in govt services at MBB willing to chat? Feeling like my experience in GPS/my specific area of expertise is putting me in a niche
All clients need to explain conference call etiquette when WFH to their employees. So far I’ve heard people washing dishes, talking to their spouse and kids, making lunch, and playing with pets...
I have a GRE from a few years ago equivalent to a 750 GMAT. Quant is the only section where I lost points. At this point, is it worth attempting a marginally higher score on the GMAT, esp quant?
Have an offer from McKinsey for their Digital Business Analyst role in Chicago. The offer is for $115k base + $10k bonus. No competing offers. 1 YOE at Big4 + master's degree. Is there room for negotiation for a higher base/bonus?
