For Canadian citizen, applying for the L1B, what is the timeline like? ie. from the day you qualify/apply to when you can move

Hi guys ! I am currently in a recruitment process since 2 months right now and had 5 interviews. I am waiting for the last one I think.
Recruter is telling me we are still 2 candidates on race. I already refused another job proposition to show my motivation on this…
Should I do/try something more (at this stage) to stand out ?

Is anyone else worried about how fast digital platforms are changing? Older employees are already struggling to keep up, and it feels like we always have a new platform to learn.

I was recently approached by a recruiter about a position as a litigation attorney at the DOJ. Unfortunately, he didn’t have any more specific information other than what I would be doing is “generally commercial litigation.” Can anyone share insights on what this may entail? Is it normal for a recruiter to be placing people for these government repositions?

So I got a new contract working remotely. No guarantee it will get renewed come December. However I'm tired of living in DC thinking about renting an air bnb in atl for a lil bit but unsure if I want to give up my apartment I have a 1 bed room den for 2100 900 sq ft which is unheard of. I know EY has a 1 year policy to initiate green card processing if you don’t have I-140 with your previous firm, but wanted to check if there is a way to initiate the process before 1 year

Currently a senior, working hard to promote Manager in a year/two. Firm wants to submit PERM with EB3 senior position and said no promotion should be taken until getting I140. Only less than 2yrs left on H1B. Getting 140 can take very long and don’t want to delay career progress. Is this even right, why cannot file PERM for a future position? What can I do now? My F1 OPT visa is expiring in a couple of weeks. My employer sponsors h1b but I didn’t make the lottery. Fortunately my partner and I are getting married and will be filing for green card. However, I’ve heard cases where green card through marriage can fail and in that case I’d be left with no visa status. Would you invest about $20-30k to transfer your F1 visa now to a 2 year CPT program as a safety net?
