Solid companies in the EU that hire entry level product managers from an MBA? I have a finance background in a tech start up, and I’m polishing my Python and SQL skills. Visited a few tech companies in Amsterdam (Booking.com, TomTom, etc) and I was wondering if there are any well known opportunities or programs.

One way is to find a closely adjacent team as an intermediate step. Plenty of people have come from MBB to my team (product strategy at a big tech company) and then after 1-3 years shifted to PM, whether in this or another company. I’m thinking about a very similar move within the next ~6 months

What about IBM PM?
If you want to get into Product management at start ups or big tech, the easiest way is finding an ex consultant who is a pm at those companies and network (ob I make it sound easy and Ull need to work on ur resume and ur experience at mckinsey). Is usually hard for MBB consultants at associate+ levels to get call from tech recruiters as they don’t see our ex fit for a PM role. Happy to chat as I went thru the process recently
I assume OP means product management rather than program or project management.
Respondents, please state your background. It makes a difference if you had a background in computer science or tech work experience either before or since becoming a consulting.
In my experience at an M7 business school, I have seen a few people with comp sci degrees, software engineering experience or tech experience go to business school, join consulting for 2-4 years then go into product management.
Amazon is the most open to consultants or non-technical MBA grads to get a product manager role, in part because Amazon separates technical from non-technical product management roles.

Can you share examples of non faang big tech?
Like bcg said, Amazon has non-tech PMs which in some cases means roughly the same as project managers. It’s pretty easy to tailor a consulting resume to non tech PM roles.
