I agree with LEK1. I just received an offer from Amazon. I met all base qualifications and most of the preferred qualifications. After you make it through HR screening and on to interviews with the Hiring Manager and others, they’ll be probing on specific skills they need for a successful candidate. Take a look at your prepared stories. Do you have multiple convincing stories that hit on failures, successes, interpersonal conflicts, leading teams, making decisions, innovations, frugality? Then have your prepared for any technical, and hypothetical questions? What kind of role are you applying for? There are paid resources online that can help you out depending on the role.

I bet most jobs receive an abundance of well qualified folks so it’s tough. Hiring was sluggish so that might have been an issue but I think all companies will pick up soon.

Are you getting referrals?

Currently interviewing with BRG in their Turnaround and Restructuring division and was wondering if anyone knew whether their compensation structure is similar to A&M's, as in the bonus being tied as a % to your billable / utilization rate? And if so, are there restrictions of any kind, like it starts applying after you hit a title, etc?

Zoom interview for a job I don’t have any real experience for. They have my resume. Do I cut right to it that I’m not specifically qualified but eager and able to learn? Or skip over it assuming they’ve seen my background and are still interested enough to interview, fake it til you make it style?

I could use some guidance on how to transition out of firm life into a government role. Prior to law: four years working for a state and a city, and four years before that worked at a consulting agency strictly serving government agencies and cities/counties. You’d think this would parlay well into the government roles I am applying for, but so far no dice. I’m entering my fourth year practicing as a lawyer. I love admin law, have some litigation and some transaction work as a lawyer. Thanks!

I have a case interview coming up soon. I never thought about working with a case coach or study group that some websites offered but some people highly suggest them instead of working solo. What's your take on this? Should I really pay for some premium service even though I feel comfortable with case interviews?

The recruiters said it will be a case study lasting for 2.5 hours. The case will not be given in advance. They only said it is a about a fictious bank. Any one in this group has any suggestions or thoughts about this upcoming case study?
