Got an offer for Electronic Arts (EA) Manager for North America (Canada) remote for 100k base CAD, 15 percent bonus and around low 40ks RSU (assuming it's USD). How much higher can the base be in Canada for EA for a Manager role? Base seems low even at 110 CAD. It's a corporate role so not anything technical or product related. Most or all the more senior managers are in the USA. Electronic Arts (EA)

Does anybody have any advice when applying to postings with many applicants and getting noticed? The company I am interested in is Figma, and though I reached out to a few technical recruiters after applying through LinkedIn, I am wondering if there might be something more I could do that maybe I’m not thinking about. Also along those lines, if anybody here works for figma I would love the chance to connect

Hi Fishies! (Is that what we are? I’m going with it)
I just came across a Google Research and Insights role that got me SUPER excited and I was about to apply when I had the idea of seeing if anyone would be willing to give me a referral. I understand (and respect) that most of you Googlers on here feel that a referral is only useful if you know the person but I would be happy to jump on the phone to give you some info about me. It would mean so much! 4 YOE at a major audio steaming service

All of the team once per quarter for a couple of days maybe, once a week here and there. Back to long commutes and eating lunch at my desk while in video calls 80% of the day. They can’t even retain and attract people as is and this won’t help ensure they have all the right or best people. This will have a negative impact on productivity and put a strain on already overworked employees.
It’s super important when onboarding and training new staff. Outside of that, virtual still work well imo for 90% of the time.
i think business teams could benefit from getting together a couple days a week. technology teams i feel like only need to get together a couple times per sprint cycle
Going into the office 2x weekly so that we hit a quota for attendance when we will spend the day on WebEx calls that could have been done from home works for some for the optics. For my team it means going in but not seeing most of the teams we support (we are horizontal support to many teams) who are in on different days. I struggle to see a benefit beyond “bums in chairs”. This is about the massive cost of real estate that is sitting unused. It’s not about collaborating or culture. It’s always about $$. Hard to justify spending millions annually on real estate that is sitting empty. You can bet it’s a line item that is discussed at board meetings and needs to be justified
I work fully remote. Most of my team is hybrid 2-3x/week, but it is not enforced. We did het together for all team or group events and collaborative meetings throughout the year.
