I’m current an S1 in corporate tax for a Top 10. I had an interview with a Big 4 for a tax technology position, but didn’t get in. I’m heartbroken because it was my dream job. 😅Everyone I spoke to seemed to like my experience and the recruiter said the team liked me as well, but they didn’t offer any feedback. Any advice on software or certifications I should get to help me get into tax technology and tax transformation? I’d really appreciate it - thank you for hearing me out!
Help, I feel stuck in a diversity hire position and I can’t get up. I’m a senior copywriter who switched to art direction. I’m running out of time to do better work- anyone hiring? For either?
Portfolio valuations exit opps?
Does anyone have any experience working within the reinsurance industry, specifically in a broker role? Was recently offered a position with one of the big 3 brokerages, but have been having trouble finding a lot of information on the role and industry as a whole. Thanks!
Out of interest I have interviewed for a people consultant role in London on a ftc. How many people do they take through the final interview process? Just trying to weigh up my chances.
Hi All, seeking advise. I was hired at the beginning of this year just before the market blown up here in Australia. Perf wise I passed early probation and received pay raise and a promotion back to back in two months but yet I'm so under the market rates. I'm so comfortable with the team and I love what I'm doing and achieving, but financiallyI'm struggling. And what upsets me the most that the new hires are getting way I mean WAY more than me even if that was a junior role. What should I do?

Hi everyone, how is project manager role at OYO ? Will oyo be a good exit opportunity from ZS. The package is going to be more, but I am only considering my growth at both places for the near and long term. Trying to not make the money a focus of taking the decision. How is the culture at OYO and is the job stable, considering the amount of people they let go last year. How are the work hours and the management in general?
I want to see if I can get into Google... pretty much 6 YOE of mostly project & release management. What kind of roles/titles do you think would best fit at G? I started taking a look around but just wanted to see if anyone might have some feedback. Would it be easier to get a referral?
Would someone mind sending me links for any resources that exist for those who have been laid off? (Companies hiring/Available creatives). Had some super talented friends get laid off today 😞
Anyone move to a new role that was not a good fit within 6 months. How did you approach it? Considering speaking with mgr for internal move, move to another tech firm, or boomerang back to consulting. For context, took a paycut for promise of impactful work/scope that hasn’t panned out
How do you fit the urge to tap out of your company/industry? Im frustrated w/lack of leadership, female role models left who are more senior, internal swirl (meaningless chaos). I still love what I do
Would you leave to a Microsoft PMM role if you only have one year left till promotion to manager at your firm? Exit now or wait and get the title? Thoughts?
Any one looking for a referral at PwC FS Advisory? Mainly into Tech consulting. e.g. SAP, Workday, Guidewire etc etc.
I’m a young data scientist with around 4 years of experience, and am wondering if taking on a paid role as a data science boot camp teaching assistant would be a good resume add, contracted with a reputable private university (technically can’t list as an employee of the university since it’s a subcontractor)
Any word on work/life balance at Ropes & Gray NYC? Looking at a position in the funds group specifically.
I’m currently making 83K at AFS. 2.5 YOE. I’m interviewing with Deloitte GPS for a consultant level position and the recruiter mentioned 80K-90K for base salary. I don’t hate my role at AFS, I just want to leave to get more experience and money. I don’t think it makes sense to leave for anything less than 97K. Should I follow through with the interview for this role? Is there a chance Deloitte GPS would offer 97K-100K for the consultant level? This is for a Human Capital Consultant role btw
Hi fishes, I got offer in two companies Deloitte india (13 LPA fixed pay + 13-18% variable pay+medical bonus+ gratuity) and Virtusa ( CTC : 16 LPA). Can you guys suggest which one is better to choose and pros & cons of the company)? Thanks you so much fishes
Cleartax is asking for salary breakup details as per section 17(1) post uploading form 16. It says these details are mentioned in Form 16 but it’s not. Where can I find the exact breakup?
Anyone have terrible fathers? My mother just lost her mom, my grandma, and per usual, my dad is making her death be all about him. She can't stop crying. My sister says he's a narcissist and my mom is a classic co-dependent. I truly want to help her, but deep down I know she has to want to help herself. I was in a similar situation that took me 3 years to completely break ties. My mom's been with him for over 40 years and still puts up with his damn BS. So sad. I just want her to to be happy.
Hello fellow fishes —I had fertility benefits in with consulting firm A and used one cycle worth of ivf. I then transferred over to consulting firm B (also with fertility benefits.). I chose blue cross blue shield for both companies and now ivf cycle round 2 shows that it would be subject to my first round of ivf funds used! anyone have experience with this ?
What do you get for parents expecting their 3rd child (second of same gender)? My sister in law is expecting and struggling to do something more thoughtful then just money since we are due with twins a month after they are due.
Got an offer from a really small consulting firm that offers no health insurance or 401k match. Otherwise the firm seems like a great fit and something I’d love to be a part of. What are some things I should consider with the lack of benefits? I’m thinking I should negotiate a higher offer to make up for it? Thoughts?
Need advice regarding time off. TL;DR: just found out younger sibling is being admitted to hospital due to mental health issues. Situation still unfolding. Do I inform my team/take time off to support family? Context: I am a new hire (<6 months) and just joined a new project last week. On top of this, another sibling (kindergarten) is doing school from home this week due to COVID exposure. Needless to say, my mom is a mess & has hands full. Is it appropriate to take last minute time off?
Thoughts on activity in the heat (90’s) while pregnant? I’m 4 weeks along and want to keep up golfing, but worried about the heat. (Doctor says it’s fine - looking for how any of you mamas actually felt)
If I’m 100% sure big law isn’t for me (i.e. don’t want to be partner), is it stupid of me not to take a signing bonus to lateral to another firm? I’m a rising 3rd year and can probably stick it out 1-2 more years max.
I can’t see my SPG points when I log into SPG website. Need to make a reservation using those points. Any suggestions on how best to approach?
What is a good compensation (base and bonus) for someone with 6-7 YOE? I know the answer is “it depends” but I just want to get a general sense of what this bowl thinks is “good” at that experience level.
I’m changing jobs from consulting to industry. My base salary raise is 8% (they won’t move any higher) but with bonus included it’s a 21% bump. Do you think that’s a good offer?
Would an INSEAD MBA hold any value in the US?
Have you ever been staffed on a project by yourself? Can this really be anything other than just staff aug or if you are a super SME?
Would you rather get promoted or laid off at your current firm (and collect a sweet severance package)? Why/why not?
