For folks who have left MBB to go to another role in consulting or industry, what typically matters more, total YOE or the level at which you leave MBB? Also are YOE at MBB/consulting typically valued as more valuable than YOE elsewhere when applying for exit ops?

In terms of value of the years, there will be many positions that are specifically for Ex-consultants and have the YOE tailored as such - typically roles like corporate strategy, corporate dev, etc.

For your average industry roles, such as an AD of analytics, or something of that sort, then yes, your years are often going to be valued more than someone who has only been in industry.

I don’t think the latter is true—you have limited/no operating experience so very few people will trust you to go in at a higher level. Your example of AD analytics is not ideal — even your top decile mgrs. likely won’t have good enough analytics capabilities.

The easy way to hop is to go to the ex-consultant roles, learn about the biz, then jump to the operating rolesZ

Following. Worried about BA->EM not getting appropriate exits.

I think both matter.

McK EMs with 3-4 YOE won’t get same exit opportunities as EMs who came from MBA with more YOE.

2 for me. New EM here.

I think so, problem is that AP comp is considerably higher and will be hard to match the new comp.

Looking for any Bay Area referrals for a non-technical role that requires an amazing people-person. Calm app?
Husband worked in an education nonprofit for 7 years - started as program staff, quickly promoted to program director, left because of toxic management, lured back as another team manager with better pay and benefits but toxic boss is no longer worth it. He is truly an exceptional manager and is having trouble finding a way into a new org that isn’t at the bottom rung or dismal pay…

My total experience is around 7+ years and am currently working in a MNC from the past 4 years. I was planning to make a switch to some other company but recently my manager has mentioned to me in person and as well as on my appraisal feedback (in writing) that I will be nominated for the H1B visa in the coming cycle. This was in July 2022. Should I be worried that it won't happen or should I start looking for the switch.?

Just got promoted to audit senior, but can’t imagine doing another busy season. I have some forensics internship experience from college and always wanted to pivot to forensics. It sounds like the firm is working mostly on COVID stuff these days, but I’m more interested in doing investigations work. If I transfer and have no choice but to work on insurance/claims, would it be better to stay in auditing? Is the insurance/claims work demanding/difficult intellectually wise?

Hey everyone, What would you say is the difference between an account director and a senior account manager. I was just promoted as an account director when I quit my job and moved to the U.K and now having so much trouble finding a job as an AD. My last interview feedback was that they really liked me but felt like I was lacking new bizz skills and that the organic business growth opportunities I found and jumped on were “luck aka right place at the right” moment kinda thing?

My mental health has taken a toll & the WLB hasn’t been very balanced at all in recent years. I need to get out & haven’t really looked for a job in almost 20 years.

But one of the better arguments I've seen online is that to take even a dead person's organs they had to consent first. Are these 2 totally separate principles or why would that concept not come into play? Or is needing consent from the dead not a federal thing
