For how much extra $$ would you leave your job and jump ship? Would $15-$20k do it?

I was offered $75k more but not taking it as potential new firm sounds like a nightmare. Not sure if this is crazy or empowering.

Depends on what you make and if you like your current job. For me, I'd need at least 20-25% more and a signing bonus, but I like my firm.

like

I’d need $50K more a year plus market bonuses to induce me to move. I don’t like new things.

like

In this market? $20k plus $10k signing bonus at least

Should be in percentages, not hard numbers. 15-20%

I’ve gotten six offers before I decided to jump. Some were for 10-15K. Some were for 20K. The one I decided to jump with is $50K, plus equity (going in-house). It’s not just about money, but about the benefits too

Honestly, at least 100k. I’m getting crushed currently and doubt it would change much at another firm, except I won’t have my precedents

My precedents ;_; feel you on this as a recent senior lateral

$30K or more.

I recently jumped for a $20k bump in base pay.

Was hired into a company at a level that was more junior than my skills (Was out of work due to pandemic for a year). I’ve been at the company 5 months. We’re going through a reorg and my new position will really be leveraging my years of experience more so than other role. Is it appropriate to discuss a raise/adding senior to title? Or should I do the job and then prove myself then talk about raise. I have more experience than the senior members of my team. New leadership than when I was hired

I know M&A has a terrible rep, but if there’s anyone who enjoys it (or at least doesn’t completely hate it), could you please say what you like about the practice? Interviewing for an M&A position and really do want to love the job, at least for a year. FYI, I’m retooling from lit, and no, staying at my current firm isn’t an option.

I went T2>MBB and am thinking of going back to T2 because I prefer to aim for partner (MBB is not sustainable for me) rather than taking industry exit... Is this a dumb move? I’ll be dropping pay slightly but with better working hours one step below partner vs industry at ‘head of’ level...
