For in-office CSMs (Male) how do you dress for work? I am heading into the office to start a new job and I need some ideas!

My suggestion would be to just ask the hiring manager. No need to drive yourself crazy trying to guess what the dress code is.

like

Observe your co-workers first and the type of work clothes they wear. But button-downs and khaki pants are my go-to.

like

Congratulations on the new job! Do you have an idea of the type of work environment your new job is? Because I would go a notch or two above that since it is your first day

like

Shirt and chino never fails.

like

Love a good pair of Chinos. They literally are the best pants ever

like

Ideally I'd go for button-down and chinos. Once you start, observe your coworkers and if there are any dress codes you need to follow.

like

When in doubt, go business casual. You don't want to be overdressed, to me, underdressed is better. Of course you won't go into the office with sweatpants on. For your first day, just some nice pants, a nice shirt, and nice shoes, and you should be fine.

like

I got a bunch of nice shirts from Brooks Brothers and the like and I just rotate them

How do you address/talk to a “nice” boss who keeps trying to do your job and by-passing you instead of letting you do your job.

In the end, I end up re-working things because it’s not compliant with regulatory guidelines.

She’s nice and chill but this thing she does has becoming increasingly frequent and it’s starting to bother me.

I’m being cautious bec she’s my new boss. If it’s a person of the same level/pay-grade I’d be very candid.

I was a month in as Workday HCM Consultant with Accenture. They immediately throw me into the HCM courses to obtain my WD HCM certification. There are three parts HCM Essentials, HCM Applied, and HCM Practical. The passing score is 70 or above. I scored a 62 on the Essentials portion, I passed Applied, and at the end of this week Practical. During class, I received an “immediate connect” Team call and I was fired because of my low score. I'm devastated, and shocked. Yesterday was my birthday.

I'm currently working in KGS and Mahn this chargeable hours style of working sucks..
There are tons of distraction while you are working on something and then you are supposed to be within the budgeted hours which are always low. There is so much non-chargeable stuff going on.

Missing those days when this clock wasnt constantly ticking on my head.

These global divisions are getting so shit these days, people should stop saying global divisions have work life balance.

Alright, back to work😑

Is it worth exploring contract to hire position at Walmart while I am currently a FTE at a product company (average salary and decent workload)? I told them unless they confirm that they would hire after 3-4 months, I wouldn't be comfortable. Any suggestions on how to approach this ? I am not in a hurry to look outside, just waiting for the right opportunity and btw, I cleared virtual onsite interviews at google and right now in team match phase (with no update in last 3 weeks).

One of my large strategic customers mentioned they would like some additional insight into what our teams are working on MoM (we're a managed service).

I thought it might be cool to test out some sort of newsletter-format, to send updates to our stakeholders there. The hope being that it would contain visuals and have a modern feel, and be a little lighter feeling than ANOTHER google sheet or dashboard.

When landing/transitioning new work at pace, what are some ways you get specific enough to manage client expectations and sign a contract with some sort of a scope, but knowing you had to race to complete that discovery and there's def more to learn, giving yourself enough wiggle room to not box-in the team that will be handed the work? Is anyone using more like user stories or similar broader formats in SOWs/scopes and then doing a detailed scoping later after the work is handed off?

I also followed up with a thank you email after the interview. It’s now the following Friday (almost 9 days later) Should I follow up or wait?

Hi All,
Looking forward connecting with many of you. I’m currently finishing up my first year as a CSM at a small SaaS startup and am loving the experience. I have over 12 YOE in customer facing roles and would enjoy discussing all things CS/AM. I’d love break into larger SaaS org as my long term goal. What was your path like to get there?

like

Our CSM department is going through a major restructure right now. There has been a huge amount of turn over since the beginning of the year. Our managers have not given us any insight to what the new restructure will look like, they have also pushed out our annual raise conversations until the end of April. A lot of CSMs are leaving the company and it has me thinking maybe I should entertain other opportunities elsewhere as well.

Has anyone else had an experience like this?

For those that done CSM/AM in SaaS, is it normal having a hard time to upsell? In my company, AMs are responsible for retention and upsell. But I find it very hard to get responses from clients, let alone sell them something. Is this normal in SaaS?

I came from adtech sales, and its much easier to get response from clients and upsell them.
