Don’t do it. If the interviewer notices that you a reading that’s a big stop. Also it’s more natural if you don’t read or stress about making sure you have everything.
Practice a lot.
Retweet on this.

Try to be as natural as possible. Having notes is very un-natural. I close to getting 2 offers, and I am trying to be as authentic as well. Remember, they are also going through this disruption, and investing their $ remotely on someone. You have to be as authentic as possible to win their trust. Remember end goal of interview is just to earn the trust that this guy can get the job done.
You can get away with it. Though if you do try, practice what you’re going to say A LOT, include some “umms” “likes” and so forth. If you can finesse it, you can finesse it. Practice practice practice to where it sounds like you’re not reading.
Lol I always read notes when I talk through presentations (remotely)
Yea. Don’t type during the interview and don’t check these notes too often.
Ideally, I’d say prepare seriously for 1 hr and you won’t need to check these notes. No one is expecting you to be too precise.

I keep bare minimum notes/pointers in a window that’s sized pretty small, so my eyes going left to right when reading is not noticeable.
I would only write key words that I can use to unblock the conversation. Eg.: top skills, favourite company value, name of the person interviewing you. List of questions you can write down and in the end be honest and ask "I have a few questions I wrote down earlier, if you don't mind..." that should be fine
Post it notes in the side of the monitor. Use that as prompts.
I’m not seeing what the issue is with this. At AWS they recommend bringing notes with examples of LP, so you can reference it.
Additionally, I like to take notes of the question being asked by the interviewer.
For my AWS interview virtual on-site, I had two screens and took notes on the interviewer question to remember and referenced my notes.
Literally why

If you really need to keep notes and not seem distracted, Use a speakerphone and record the call audio for your reference. The most respectful thing is to have a paper and pen to take notes, similar to what you would do in person.
Do not record the call! It’s illegal in multiple states!
Be authentic, dont read from a script. Also dont pretent is not a zoom call. I shared my screen during the interview and turned it into a white boarding session to figure out a joint vision for the role. Made a huge positive difference to make it a collaborative exercise rather than trying to just answer their questions. Landed the role with a nice pay bump.
Sorry. Was unclear. I agree on notes. And even taking it further with screensharing. For the second interview I drafted a bullet point list visions for the role. Then we edited it together
