WealthSimple because their website is incredible, they have socially responsible investing options, and their Canadian which means they are good people. 🤗
Any opinions on ellevest?
I use Betterment b/c Wealthfront did a bit too much tax loss harvesting IMO.
As far as investment choices, Betterment and Wealthfront are equally as good. Betterment's app is a bit basic, but you get free (in-app) access to certified financial planners. Their customer service has been very responsive.
I don't have any experience with Stash.
Anything is better than nothing— all these suggestions will be fine for you.
@op if you don’t know anything about investing dollar cost averaging with vanguard etf is way to go. Always outperforms those who think they’re smart investors. That said, Facebook stock very nice price right now over this news that will die down in a few weeks
Canada doesn’t even have free speech written in their laws
If you want to actually invest like an adult, then VYM - Vanguard High Dividend Yield ETF. Use Robinhood for zero fee trading and invest an amount you’re comfortable with every month. Called dollar cost averaging.
You’ll make more doing that than you will with any of those other apps.
MS1, I checked out Robinhood too, I’m just extremely new to the thought of investing although I’ve done some research and understand the dollar cost averaging method. Maybe I’m just overthinking? I’m definitely lazy.
Vanguard target date funds work really well and cost far less than those other two options. Wealthfront is suddenly starting to invest people’s money in their own fund with higher fees than anything else which is suspicious...
If you really like robo advisors, Schwab also has a good one with no explicit fees (although they do keep a cash balance and buy their own typically low cost etfs).
This isn’t investment advice blah blah blah
