For late 20s-early 30s singles in the city, how much do you spend per month? Booze, groceries, gym, clothes, uber, etc (excluding rent). Moving and trying to see what a realistic budget is

honestly i’ve moved at home and will eat sushi 3x a week and buy whatever i want within general reason since i no longer have to pay rent and still have savings at the end of each month

Wholefoods + Amazon: $600
Eating out/dates: $400

I be spending all the time. All. The. Time.

Rent $4k
Credit card $3k -$4k

Yeah total monthly cc bill is probably what I’m looking for.

Credit card bill was 2-2.5k a month pre pandemic.

Pre pandemic $1K-$1.5K per monthly cc bill but I’m also on the frugal side. (Rarely uber, dinner out once every other week)

During pandemic $800-$1k /month.

$500/month which is ~5% of net take home pay. This is during pandemic so I haven’t really done much aside from cooking and eating out few times a month. Pre pandemic was around 1k.

Before deciding to buy a place, probably 5k. Now, maybe half that

Although I would say you should approach this not as “how much can I spend” but rather “how much is left over to spend after saving for my goals.” Identify your goals, how much to save to get there, then the rest is your discretionary income

like

Around 2k/month

Around 2.5k/month. Mostly groceries, restaurants/booze, and ubers, and then it seems like every month there’s some different big expense... last month I bought ski boots and then went skiing, for example.

1k

My budget says 1.3k on entertainment and food and 6k total(this includes rent, charity donations, utilities, student loans, money moved to investment accounts)

I recently moved into a new place that has windows with metal frames. I noticed that now in the winter months since it's cold outside the window frames have a lot of condensation and everything is soaked. Has anyone experienced this before? Is this normal or should I be telling like the building management about it? I'm scared that it might ruin the wood and paint around the area.

Looking to sublease my studio near Lincoln Center. It’s in a luxury doorman building with top amenities, modern kitchen (separate from the bedroom), and in-unit laundry. The location is great: close to 2 subway stations (A, C, B, D, and 1 lines), 10 minutes walk to Central Park, 5 minutes walk to the Riverside Park, supermarket is in the corner. My lease is up to the mid of Mar’22. I love the building and just move for personal reason. I can send you pictures over. The monthly rent is $2,200.
