I went from running / orange theory to BBG. I canāt say Iāve lost weight or look noticeably different, but it still has been a positive experience for me. I personally think the pictures that show extreme changes are people who either went from not working out at all or having a kid or having horrible eating habits to both using regular bbg workouts and eating much better. I read somewhere that the bbg workouts themselves only burn around 200 calories.. so the food component matters! That being said, I think bbg is great because it is much easier to do in a hotel room or before work due to both the convenience and the short time commitment. It has led to more workouts during the week than I would normally do especially when things get crazy for work. Also I think for the results to happen the cardio that she recommends on top of the workouts should be done too (which I find harder to motivate to do). Regardless, even if Iām not losing weight, the workouts do make me feel stronger and I feel accomplished that I completed a big challenge! (Sorry for the long response but your question was one Iāve thought about a lot lately Haha)
Yes I love them! Itās actually made me really form my exercise routine at the start. I initially did the 12 weeks, nothing as drastic as the pictures but definitely improved strength and visually noticeable. I now dip in and out as itās PERFECT for this job, can do in any hotel gym, and gives the closest thing to a Barryās workout but in 45 minutes bed -> post workout shower. I try to do 2X resistance and 2X run or walk when travelling, then get in 3 days of classes when home (solid core / spin / Barryās / yoga etc)
Before starting this job I actually got up to week 48 in BBG and I can tell you that if you follow the workouts (and for a few months I was also following the dietary guidelines /using the recipes) the results are amazing ! It helps with weight loss but also makes you so much stronger. However I have fallen off the band wagon and really need to motivate myself to start again - BBG is definitely not easy but it works!
Thanks EY1! Appreciate that
I tried them and I will say the biggest benefit is strength. I did notice I got stronger in some areas but EY1 nailed it on the head. Those before and after are due to A LOT more than just BBG... I think the diet is a big part of it... probably the biggest to really see those kind of results. Good luck!
80% of results still depend on diet.
