Best way to prep for the McKinsey PEI interview?

I have sent out probably 140 applications in the last 2 weeks to analyst/project management roles across the country and haven’t heard anything back besides a few rejections. Is this normal? So much time invested in applying and I’m feeling discouraged. 1 year of experience in consulting/project management for a start up consulting firm, business degree from a pretty good state school.

I'm looking at applying for a job with a company that is apparently an audit client. I'm in international tax but wasn't really aware that the application would ask me if I was employed by the company's auditor in the past 3 years and if I have a financial or business relationship or affiliation with the Company’s outside audit firm or its members (partners, managers). I think the answer is yes to both. Will this cause an issue with my application?

Currently working as SM2 at PwC and interviewing with KPMG for a D position. Is is a good comparison in terms of designation? How’s the comp for D in KPMG? T2 city here. I have been with EY in the past and can vouch PwC offered a better WLB and culture. Always heard KPMG has better WLB and culture. Is it just a speculation or have some truth in it? How long do recruiters wait to submit candidates for in-house roles? I recently had a positive conversation with a recruiter for a very newly posted role. I sent my resume and the recruiter said he would be in touch, but I’m not clear if my resume was submitted or if he’s waiting to find other potential candidates as well. How long should I wait to follow up after I sent my resume? TIA

I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
