For our Social Security income when we qualify for it, is it based on the highest annual income during the entire working life, or the most recent income the year before being qualified?

Assume 0. The probability that it will be raided by some bureaucrat and/or become means-tested to the point where a consultant won’t be eligible in the next few decades is extremely high.

I just assume that I won’t see a single dime of it and plan accordingly. Anyone who plans on Social Security providing a significant amount of their post-retirement income is an idiot. I also am keeping myself healthy now, so that I don’t destroy any retirement income with excessive bills for healthcare later in life.

That being said, I don’t see it going away completely, unless the political party that gets rid of it wants to end up like the Whigs, aka no longer existing.

It's based on the top 35 years of income, with a minimum of 40 quarters (does not have to consecutive) of contributing to Social security.

When investing in stocks, how do you strategize where to put your money? For example, I like to put $2000 a month in the stock market. My problem is I buy 2 shares here, 3 shares there. And I’ve ended up owing a bit of everything. Ideally I want to build up to have 100 shares of a stock so I can start selling covered calls. But I feel like it’s going to take forever. Especially if I keep getting into new stocks.

I quit drinking at the first of the year because I was drinking too much as a way to cope with Covid. 99.9% of the time, I’m glad I quit drinking. And then there are those nights when I just want a glass of something to take the edge off, which makes me think alcohol was more of a coping mechanism than I thought and it’s probably a good thing I’m not drinking. I don’t even like wine very much, but I miss that low level buzz that makes everything a little less loud.

I need help staying organized. I run a team of 6 people. Every time I ask a team member to take care of something, I need to continually follow up with them. It’s becoming burdensome. My issue is that I’m losing track of tasks. I have them written down in Excel but that is becoming burdensome. I’ve tried Asana in the past but it never fully caught on. We use Teams. Should I try organizing tasks in Teams? Other suggestions for staying organized?

Hi everyone! I don’t have access to any other bowls so figured I would post this here. I am writing a paper about big 4 work life balance and the initiatives that each company has implemented to try and tackle this. I know PwC has created My+ but for people that work at the other firms, what have they done? Has there been a specific “initiative” created that is similar to My+? Thank you for your time :)
