From someone quite a bit older than you, be prepared to “pivot” for the rest of your life - if you’re lucky enough to have/build transferable skills. Never be afraid to take a chance….especially at 25. Good luck!
Pivoted to data analytics when I was 25, after 6 years in sales. I was burned out completely at the end of the sales career. Droped from B2B regional to Marley an intern. Secured my previous pay within couple months and 1 employer change. It did another change since then and looking into another. I'm thriving currently and there is so much possibilities to grow in upcoming years. It's definitely not to late.
NY LI - I started from the scratch. I was basically a manager of 2 shops and after pivot I started from internship at KPMG
Don’t be afraid of change. I applied for literally hundreds of jobs out of college. Got a job I didn’t really care for then someone found my resume and hit me up. I will be starting for a job I want in July. Never have the mindset of being afraid it’s too late. I’m 28 going into a new field but am ecstatic.
I think for me, I have know since being in college what I wanted to do but didn’t know how to get there. So the current company im with, I let them know asap what I wanted to do and started networking with people who know others in the field I was interested in. They sent my resume off and I got some replies. A lot of people are connected in ways you don’t know until you ask.
What specific roles are you interested in? Transition from sales to the corporate world is definitely possible.
Truthfully I want to become a product consultant because I still appreciate the helping individuals with their policies.
But where I work, you need two consecutive years of good sales.
Aside from that, I've interviewed for an operations role at NYL and it really does not seem challenging enough for me to switch
