Would like to give a few weeks notice to current firm about leaving but need the entire parental leave. Parental leave can be taken at either firm but importantly, need the full time off and not work at all. What to do and when to do it (ie provide notices etc.). Thanks!

Ive been in an intermodal logistics cordinator for my company for 7 years now and just this last year, i recieved no salary increase because i had reached the "salary limit" for my possition which is 50k. I want to see what else is out there and keep my options open. Do you have any recommendations on where i can start as i have not had to look in over 7 years and seems like alot has changed. For reference i recieved salary increases of 2.5% a year.

Looking to switch from a boutique firm into big law and make a move into corporate from litigation. Anyone have experiences doing this? Also, does anyone know which firms are more willing to hire laterals from outside of big law and which ones won’t?

It is incredibly demoralizing to be killing myself slogging through diligence for a very complicated target, including drafting an extensive diligence memo, all on a very tight timeline, just to be left off all the interesting calls about the purchase agreement where I could learn b/c partner is concerned about the bill & doesn’t want to write off time. It makes me feel like I’m not on the team & am just a worker bee drone & I am way less motivated to do my best work.

After many years of doing purely corporate law, I recently moved inhouse to do structured finance. Honestly, I am in unknown territories. My boss also not patient about my re-learning process yet they knew from the interview that I know close to nothing about structured finance. I am 2 months into my 6 months probation period and I am worried that I might have bit more than I can chew. FYI - I am doing all I need to do to learn (books) but still struggling. Any pointers on how to get it faster.

Nobody has really ever explained much about this side of private practice to me. From what I can tell based on my experience:
(1) their cases are usually really weak (maybe my biglaw defense-side bias)
(2) their lawyers tend not to be as highly credentialed
(3) would offer better experiences for junior litigators
