For people that have learned a new language outside of a classroom , what language-learning app/website would you recommend?
I'm trying to learn French and aside from English, am fluent in Spanish.

Trying to decide how to best help out a coworker without overstepping. One of the teachers on my team just finished her first year, and she will be on my team again next year. She really struggled with classroom management this year, and it got so bad that the behaviors were affecting all of us on the team. I feel like I could easily talk to her because I am the closest to her age; however, I’m not our team leader. Suggestions? Should I even get involved? I mean, it was the worst first year ever

Has anyone used a classroom economy in their resource room? In the past we’ve just done jobs as they are needed, but this year my kids really want specific jobs and I like the idea of an economy.

Just started my 4th year teaching and finally feeling more confident and comfortable in the classroom. I recently just got surgery on the ankle. I will be on crutches up until the first day of school. I am 3 floors up. No elevator. Moving classrooms or taking more time off is not an option. Help!

Does it matter what I wear?

My school does not have a/c and my classroom temp hovers around 80-85 when it's about 70 outside.

My usual outfit is khakis, button down shirt over a t shirt, (plus a mask), and I'm sweating all day long. I decided to wear nice khaki shorts and a polo shirt on a really hot day and felt self conscious as soon as I got to school. There's no contract language and I see other teachers dressed like this all the time, but they're female and I'm a male. Should I care?

I am looking to move out of the classroom into instructional design or training roles. Is there any advice for a teacher looking to move to corporate remote work?

So my ISD split me between a HS and a MS that recently reopened. I'm the only MS band director. The MS decided, without consulting me, to use the band hall as a classroom and after school enrichment "daycare". AKA added desks and tables. How do I approach this? I feel it is not OK in the slightest. I feel the band hall should reflect the goals, discipline, and culture of the program. Not as an empty classroom.
