For people who track monthly budgets with mint or similar, when do you adjust the discretionary areas like food/clothes/social/etc?

I use YNAB and adjust mine each month a month in advance. So I have already set and funded my budget for November.

Same for me - I use YNAB also. You can see average budget and average spend. Every month I rebalance if it feels too far off, but no hard and fast rule for x%. Secondly, when it feels like certain needs aren’t adequately met (usually clothes category for me). Also when budget factors change like replacing a totaled car unexpectedly, salary increase, etc.

I had not really been bumping mine up but recently have had to adjust due to inflation impact on food. Wondering if others do adjustments based around pay increases or other approaches

I budget the month prior

Hello all! I am currently in a clinical role as I have been for the past 17 years in neurophysiology. This has been a great experience but time for me to move on. Ideally I’d like to move to some type of analytics perhaps or QA; remote work would be perfect. I have a BS and MBA in healthcare management. Anyone have any leads they can share? I’ve been looking for awhile now with little luck on my own so I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask here.

Should I specialize in Blockchain or AI? I’m a freshman in a CS degree and I can’t decide. My main argument to choose blockchain is the easy entry with little experience and high salary, I plan on growing my skills during the bear market and get a job once the market recovers. Regarding AI, I find this field fascinating but I feel like it requires a lot of experience, degrees and diplomas.
