I’m really struggling with staying sleep. I have no problem falling asleep but I will always wake up after 4 - 5 hours and it’s not enough. Does anyone have any tips or recommendations? I exercise daily. I don’t drink caffeine. I eat well. I take melatonin. What else can I do?

I started practicing at the height of COVID and I’ve been trying to relax a little bit more now that things have loosened up a bit, but I just heard yesterday that COVID might spike again during the holiday traveling season, and I had such a hard time sleeping last night because I felt so anxious. My grandmother passed away recently, and I thought I would be very sad and cry, but I am not and I wonder if there’s something wrong with me. I was very sad and cried when she fell ill three years ago, but when she passed away I don’t think what I felt was sadness, more like emptiness... Is this normal? Can showing signs of wealth limit your chances at a promotion ?

Does it matter when I ask for a raise? My company process is that my manager completes a performance review, then I review what he wrote and after I sign off on it, that’s when raises happen. Last year, they gave a 1% raise and didn’t even tell me about it, so I’m wondering, should I wait and see what they give this year and then negotiate or ask for it before I sign off on my review?

What is a starting salary for a senior consultant that does energy transformation consulting at other consulting companies? I know GH underpays lower than market, but I’m having a hard time gauging how much more. Not enough reports on Glassdoor for my company and city. Please mention YOE and whether you live in a city with a higher COL. Senior consultant is equivalent to the next level up after entry level at GH.

I ended up spending 2.5 years as a staff attorney at big law before spending the new two years as a litigation attorney at a boutique. I'm a senior associate at an AmLaw 100 firm being considered for an non-equity partner position at another AmLaw 100 firm which is a bit further down the pole. There is a business development expection to eventually convert to equity; the expectation at the start is to assist with existing work. Jumping essentially let's me short track the road to partner. I'm unsure about the opportunity, which is essentially me starting over. Any wisdom on this situation? Thanks!

If you had a choice between Jones Day and Schulte, which would/should you choose and why? It’s hard to look pass the ranking/prestige of Jones Day but they are black box whereas Schulte is lockstep and a funds specialist firm which could lead to GC roles at a fund quite easily in the long term. That’s not the long term play here, but just stating a fact to consider. Also keep in mind I would be lateraling in from out of state.
