People I know that leave EY brag about the pay increase they got but never want to share it. I’m senior getting promoted to manager in August. I have had a good experience so far unlike many so I can’t complain but wondering if I’m missing out on salary increases. Can someone actually shares numbers $$? This can be among any big four. Don’t eat a minute
To echo comments above, never eat real working time. However no one is entitled to record bad time as billable. My personal rule is I get 10 minutes per charge hour for nonwork (coffee, bathroom, chatting, etc). But beyond that, I put the time to admin or nothing at all. That I not eating time. That is being honest
We all eat time. Just the way it is
Nah I didn’t do that when I was at pwc
Do not eat time, ever.
"Don't eat time" "why are you overbudget?" "why is this taking you longer than other people". "please list out what you did during all these hours" "we need a write off because you spent too much time". Yeah, just eat time.
Exactly - talk out of both sides of their mouths
I never ate time, even when asked. If they tried to get payback, I would escalate to SM or Partner.
Don’t eat time. It ends up screwing someone else over down the line when they’re expected to follow the same budget for the work.
A pay it forward kind of thing?

High 80s is the goal in general
I don’t eat time and they tell us 80% is the goal. Last year my bills led were well over the total amount they set as a goal and utilization was under 80% but they didn’t care because all my jobs came in at good realization.
Is she being asked to eat efficient time? It’s one thing to be in the office 10 hours and charge 10 hours, but very rarely is someone working that full 10 hours.
Fair enough. That’s what I keep getting hit with when I don’t eat hours
I don’t eat time, but I’m in QS so it is my job to save time by finding ways to do everything in alteryx/tableau. I wouldn’t eat time either way though.
