Hello OW 🐟:
I have an interview scheduled for Senior consultant position (Private Capital practice - London office)
Can anyone share the insights on the below mentioned things:
1 - Compensation and other perks
2 - WLB (hours)
3 - types of projects (CDDs only?)
4 - Is it possible to switch from PE practice to generalist in case of burn out? I love this type of work but still I believe in long run it will not be sustainable.
5 - Should I expect only PE cases in interview?

Any good book recommendations?

Lol, so many likes and no answers?? I can start: I’m a principal and I’m in between a Sr PM and a Director (same level as a Group PM, but an IC/no direct reports). So far I’m leading cross workstream/PM team initiatives and playing both strategy and program management (which isn’t fun).
For us, PPM is the highest level individual contributor track for PMs. It differs slightly in the scope of work from our SPMs with more focus on strategy and GTM work. We also generally assign our PPMs to products that are attacking a new market or looking to enter in an already mature market where there might be a lot of head winds.
Directors on the other hand are in our people manager track for PMs. They are generally running a portfolio of products, managing other people managers (Group PMs) and sometimes the ICs. Director work is a lot of coordination with other business units, organizational/process work to help your team, program management stuff, and setting strategic goals and direction for you portfolio.
Hope this helps.
Are PPMs on the same level-ish as Directors at your org or are they same level as a Group PM?
Principle PM’s in my experience are extremely high in the org. They are a single contributor at a director or above level. Fellow would be the only one above that.
