Glad to see our nation turning out to vote, when we vote, America is at its best!
“It’s possible 85 million people could vote before Election Day and perhaps 150 million will vote in total. Ten times more mail ballots have been returned than at this point in 2016 and twice as many people have voted in-person.”

By most contracts, recruiters won’t be able to submit your application to the same firm if you’ve already applied to it, so the second scenario would probably never even happen. If they’ve already reached out to the firm but haven’t submitted your resume, you still could apply, but at that point it may be best to have the recruiter present you - is there a reason you’re still looking to apply on your own if it’s somewhere the recruiter has already contacted? It’s best to be open with the recruiter where you’ve already applied to on your own so you can avoid overlaps.
I mentioned a position to the recruiter but not sure if anything was done. The position has since been re-posted by the firm and I’d much rather go ahead and apply myself. I suppose best if I ask the recruiter if anything came of it first.
That makes sense - in that case, yes, definitely contact the recruiter to see if they made any headway, and if they haven’t, tell them you want to apply yourself. Odd the firm reposted, the recruiter might’ve not reached out yet or gotten far in conversations yet then.
I just had this happen. I found out about a position from a recruiter, knew someone at the firm and reached out directly. The contact pushed my info along but ultimately the firm decided the recruiter should get the $$ bc I wouldn’t have known about the position without them telling me. Just do what you think will be best for you to get the job and be up front with the firm about how you found out about the position.
Oh, I wouldn’t worry about it at all then.
Depends on the arrangement between the recruiter and the firm. If they don't have an agreement and the recruiter is just reaching out independently, a firm may prefer going with direct applicants so they don't have to pay a recruiter.
