What does your lease say? Also consider shopping your lease to have comps in case you want to negotiate.
They can increase your rent 1time in 12month if it’s not rent controlled but have to give 30day notice. So it can be that they will tell you in 15 days or it can be in a few months. Whenever the new lease starts it’s locked in for 12months.
Thanks! I did check with the SF rent control board as well. Any increase less than 10% they need to give a 30 day notice. Any increase more than 10% they need to give a 90 day notice
I know for rent controlled buildings, landlord can raise retroactively, up to 3-4 yrs. My old place did that a couple times. But this is for rent controlled.
