I'm a scotch whisky drinker, pretty much exclusively, apart from a few select Irish bottles. Live in Ireland. So go tos would be Springbank, Kilkerran, Laphroaig, Caol Ila, Arran, Highland Park, Glengoyne...
On many visits to the US I've tried various Bourbons. Never very successful. Always seemed overly sweet and syrupy to my palette.
But I'm sure there are great choices out there.
What would you suggest as quality American whiskies for a scotch fanatic?
Have you been having parents who are pushing back against Black History month lessons/activities? What do you say/do? I've had some push back and hoping that my admin backs me up.

Hosting a birthday dinner at my place for ~10 people and would like to get it catered. Budget $500 for apps and entrees (alc and dessert I’ll figure out). Any Manhattan restaurants you’d recommend where food travels and tastes well? I’m near Lincoln Center.

Is it ordinary to take documents you’ve worked on at your current firm with you when you leave? Has anyone heard of people getting snapped for it / having their current firm hit them up about it?
Thursday I had received email from JP Morgan HR regarding my availability for the interview. I had responded back to the mail stating I am available for interview on Monday from 10 am till end of the week any time. After that I haven't heard back from the HR on further process. I am worried as they might not interview me. Need thoughts of group people for the scenario.

Interviewed with a Director at EY today for a Manager role & she mentioned that I will be eligible for my variable component only next December. I was told the cycle is July to June by others on the bowl. Can anyone enlighten me please? Are they not giving bonus for 6 months?

I want to make a website for my copywriting portfolio. But I don’t know where to start or how to do it. I want to make it as simple as possible. Which websites do y’all recommend? And how do I add my work to it? 99% of my work is in Google docs, and the finished products are in filestage, Klaviyo, etc. how do I download/extract them from those softwares for my portfolio? I am on my 3rd and final round interview next week for a job I am very excited about. I am interviewing for a procurement manger job and will be meeting with their regional finance manager. What kind of questions do you think I can except from this role? I have never had to interview with a financial person before. Thanks!
Just received an offer that was $5k over the top of my initial range. I was nervous that I had low balled myself in the initial range I gave so am happy with this amount. Should I still try to negotiate for higher at this point or is that a bad look and just go with what they offered?

I’ve been at a startup for 6 months and feel like I want to quit. What should I state in interviews as the reason for looking into a new position? The company is not getting any new customers and I don’t believe in the CEO’s management style or vision…
When you negotiate salary, how long does it normally take to receive an answer? It’s my first time negotiating and I feel way out of my comfort zone. It’s been 24 hours so far. I’m worried how this is perceived. Any tips is appreciated!
I just got a decent offer for a stable unionized role, but I am still in the running for another role that I am more attracted to. Do I tell this other role that I have an offer or would that hurt my chances? I don’t want to burn bridges at either workplace, but I know there is probably at least another week or so until I find out if I get this other role.
For context, the first is a city job with good pay and great work/life balance and the second is competitive F500 company.
Not trying to read too much into signs because I don’t want to get hopes up to be let down, but what does it mean that a recruiter follows up an email within 1hr not by email, but phone call with an update that I’m one of the two final candidates. I’m getting interview burnout during my job search and this being the first time a recruiter followed up by phone instead of email and quickly at that. When will I see the light at the end of the tunnel?
How would you answer the question 'why do you want to leave your current company/role?'?
I applied for a job based on the job description and now have an interview with the Recruiter in the next couple of days. In preparation for the interview I did some research and have serious concerns about the company. E.g., most of the most recent Glassdoor reviews describe the company as a "sinking ship" with poor benefits and poor leadership.
How would you approach this situation? Would you mention the bad reviews to the recruiter? Cancel? Continue and see what happens?
Any tips on going thru a interview at META
I was offered a position through a recruiter and the company is now doing a background check. I haven’t received a written offer letter or started any paperwork.
After receiving the offer I turned down a final interview with another company. I’ve also been invited to another interview with someone else.
I don’t feel comfortable continuously turning down interviews if I don’t have a written offer or started any paperwork. I want to email HR about the process but what should I say?
Have you ever been interviewing with a company and then several interviews in, you see another role at the same company that was just posted that might also be a good fit?

Hi! What questions should I ask the Hiring Managers when I interview for a brand new role within their team?
Is submitting job references obsolete?
I didn’t get asked one for my current role and it’s looking like I won’t for the one I’m interviewing for now.
To be fair, all anyone ever does is pick people they know will say really good things anyway. So maybe removing them just saves everyone time.
Is it normal for companies to take a while to get back to you? I made it through to the final round, it’s been over a month and my application still says “interview stage.” I’ve contacted the recruiter several times but never heard anything back
I'm looking to pivot into tech and I've been looking at program manager roles at Google and Amazon (as well as other companies) and found a couple I'm excited about. I have about 8 years of program management experience in a higher education setting. I've applied to other roles at both of these companies but I'm particularly interested in a couple roles.
