180 N Jefferson - a hidden gem located in the northwest of west loop. It's < 10 min walk to Wacker dr., 5 min to Randolph rd and Fulton Market, 10 min to River North, 1 block from pink/green line stop, 2 blocks to French market and suburban trains, pretty quiet area overall. Great view of the city if you're above the 20th floor, great rooftop views. Jewel, Marianos, Whole Foods, and H Mart all walking distance away.

Presidential Towers is good near downtown

funnylike

Oh thanks. Hoping there weren't trolls on here but oh well

look into south loop if you care about your apartment more than the surrounding neighborhood. nice place but quiet and not shit to do.

like

I live in south loop and can confirm. You can get a nice size apartment within the range you want. However, there aren't many bars and restaurants and most of your friends will end up going to other areas to hangout out. On the flip side, close to public transportation, which is very nice.

like

I like Hubbard Place, but it's on the high end of your budget.

like

I've been here since June and have no complaints. Despite being close to dining/nightlife in River North, there's great landscaping in the area that makes it feel more residential. I also have a wonderful amount of storage--which is a skimpy area for most River North apartment complexes.

like

33 W Delaware and 111 W Maple are both nice high rises.
They are not apartment buildings though, they are individually owned condos, so your rental experience can differ based on unit owner.

Atwater is nice

Why would you live downtown?

To PM1’s point - yes - the number of days you’re in an office does factor into it. One of the biggest perks (for me THE biggest perk) to living downtown is the short commute.

Please take my unit!! In MILA, very high floor

Trying to DM you!

My fiancé and i have been fighting almost daily recently. We are both at fault and i very clearly see how i contribute to the problems. His issue is anger management, my issue is serious depression and the negativity it causes. We both apologize for our faults and take responsibility but the same problems are reoccurring. We love each other and want things to work but we’re both going insane. Feeling unprepared for marriage and unsure about the path forward.

I don’t think that most people they find in the lake went in it willingly. Water makes it too easy to cover up murders. Washes away evidence. But it’s dismissed because most people they found had also been drinking. But people just disappearing miles away from the Lake don’t just fall in it. Yes, suicide happens. But many of these cases show zero signs of anything like that. The constant MO is being out with friends having fun. The friend vanishes. Then is found in the lake weeks later.

Hey, Chi. First time caller.

So I'm considering a switch from law to consulting, and noticed EY has started posting salary ranges for positions. All the mid- to senior-level jobs I'm looking at are in the $95k to $150k range. Is that right? True for all the big 4? Seems super low. I guess I never thought about it before but how exactly do you folks get paid?

I am only 4 months into working at my current firm. I already know it isn’t a good long-term fit because it is tech consulting. As a recent Finance graduate who interned in Corporate Treasury at a bank, I want to work for a firm with a stronger focus on management, strategy, financial services, or m&a consulting. Looking for an entry level analyst/associate role. If you work at a firm with a strong presence in any of these areas and know about an role that can be a good fit, please let me know!
