2. If it’s an MDP who will actually go talk to recruiting about you, yes title matters. Otherwise just important to get a referrer who will give a strong referral regardless of title

PL should count for something, but there is still a spectrum of commentary that can include in the referral. And your résumé still needs to be strong.

So, “it depends,” but yeah a PL referral is a good thing to have.

Source: pretty sure i only got an interview (as a C) was because of a referral from someone who happened to be a PL

Yes. It matters slightly if the referral is from an MDP. Doesn't matter below that level.
