For the crowd: Is an MBA increasingly a worthless degree? @Deloitte: How much is that paper degree needed to move from Consultant to Sr. Consul. and Sr. to Manager?

MBA won't get you to senior. It's just a time thing. You could come out of college with a degree in Journalism but putting two years in as a consultant will get you to senior.

Depends on your post-MBA career aspirations - e.g., stay in consulting, F500 exit, startup, etc. If the first two, an MBA probably makes sense. Also depends on whether your undergrad was in business

Also, promotion to manager requires a certification (like CPA, CISA, etc). MBA won't suffice.

If you have relevant experience it's easier to be a Sr. consultant but you still need a certification and put in time for manager

With consulting firms and banks competing for talent with tech and startups, they relaxed degrees quite a bit. Wait until the bubble bursts

Im in SF, and let me tell you this bubble isn't bursting any time soon...

What if an engineering undergrad and want to be on the business side of a startup?

I am getting a lot of pressure from my mom to rethink my relationship with my bf. She says he’s too laid back and doesn’t seem to be a “go getter” meaning he only wanted to take 2 classes a semester for his MBA while working a pretty laid back job that he got laid off from. He’s taking an extra class this semester but she’s comparing him to working moms who also do school part time. This is making me so upset because he’s a wonderful human.

Does fed consulting (big4, MBB) usually have better WLB than general practice does? I have a job I love with a solid 40-45hrs/week, but somewhat underpaid, so just dreaming of other oops in the future (post-MBA).

Understood that pay is slightly lower in fed, but it would still be a whole lot more than what I make now 🙃

Mamas, need recommendations for swaddles. My daughter is 4 and a half months. Although she's supposed to wean off swaddles at her age, she has trouble sleeping without it. She'd move her arm, rub her eyes and hit her head if her arms are free. We have been using the halo swaddle and it worked fine until now - she could wiggle her arms out of the swaddle in the middle of the night and wake up. Do any moms have similar experience with their babies? Which swaddle would you recommend? TIA!

Hello All!
I been in my role for four years. I was the sales center admin, the office manager and executive administrative assistant all in one. The starting pay was at $49,000. This is year four almost 5 and I make $57,000. I feel under paid. I was told there was a low, mid and high cap off for executive admin assistant position. I want to move on to a company that values me and my skills. Do anyone know what areas or positions I can go work in? I am willing to relocate or work remote.
