I was talking to a first year at a different consulting firm who mentioned that even as a first year, he gets plenty of project staffing options. Is this the norm? I got pigeonholed early
Have a strong feeling the lead on my current project is about to be replaced. Laying low.
I called in sick today and ended up watching "Walking Dead" marathon while having soup in bed. Almost felt like college days. Except when the phone rang and I had to take an urgent client call.
That moment when your client tells the engagement partner of your project that if his son weren't married he would try to set you up with him...
What are some of the oldest tools or technology you've seen at your firm or a client that needs desperate upgrading?
I just got on a project that requires me to be remote. I feel like this is will limit my impact and stunt my career growth and I'm looking for Senior this year. Any advice? Can I avoid the project?
Note of caution. Monday morning travel doesn't mix well with a client site team who are all morning people. I'm on my third cup of coffee and I still can't catch up with these people.
Is it frowned upon to use a stack of post-its to make a countdown of how many days left until you're off a miserable project?
Does anyone else out there feel the need to listen to Hawthorne Heights because their project makes them feel emo?
Managers that essentially do nothing all day but claim their "guidance" is crucial to the project.
When the IT "experts" at your client office spend the first 30 minutes of every meeting figuring out how to sort columns in excel
Lol to when everyone at your client company leaves the office at 6pm sharp without fail..and you're there til 9
No trust: Client emails you at 4:50 because you are offline walking to a new room between meetings. They think you left for the day. I'm still working.
That time when your favorite client person who is LinkedIn friends with you congratulates you on your promotion when you've been billing at that level the entire time 😶👀
Trying to convince the SM on this new engagement I'm staffed on to send me to the client in Tampa. Audit consultant = remote work 😒
Can you imagine the fuckery that would happen if a client looked at all of these posts?! Hahaha #valuecreation
Cause I'm not really serious until I ask a client a third time for the same data they said is "easy to get"

What does everyone think of online mbas from large schools vs attending a full time program? How does it look on resumes/hiring perspective? Currently have over six years of consulting experience.
Got a LinkedIn request from a DHS/DOD employee I don't know... not touching that with a 10 foot pole

Do you think it’s okay in job interviews to say when they ask as part of “why do you want to leave consulting” that I want better work-life balance (in terms of not working wknds/overtime and travel) and I believe this role/company would offer that based on my conversations with others in addition to my skills being a fit for the role or does that make me sound lazy/too honest to the interviewer? Appreciate any insights!
Perks of WFH I guess
Any current consultant willing to do a mock case with a very enthusiastic applicant? Have been casing extensively with candidates for over a year, but wonder how it compares to casing with real consultants. Have my interview in 14 days! I can promise eternal gratitude 😇.
How does a project get assigned to a resource at EY in tech consulting service line? Is the individual responsible to reach out to the PPMDD’s and check out for any staffing needs/give the client interviews?
