What other skills do you feel like you have developed? For me I didn’t want to be an accountant anyways so really didn’t mind forgetting those technical accounting details

I never cared until I was staffed on a dispute that was very accounting-heavy and realized I have completely forgotten half of the terms and the accounting concepts behind it
I personally think it’s a real problem, especially that we implant this idea in staffs minds that they need their CPA, but will most likely never need to use it in Forensics. EY doesn’t have the core forensic accounting type work that will require GAAP knowledge and the like.
I left for an FP&A role. I figure I can always go back if I want to. I probably average 45-50 hours a week. It’s more predictable, though. i dont feel like my life is being dictated by a client need or 10pm partner email. Also getting more comprehensive understanding of financial statements, operations, and valuation. TBD on whether I like it enough to stick with it long term. Definitely feels like a good more for my development at the moment
