I send mine to daycare

Expecting to take care of an infant and work full time simultaneously is a recipe for disaster.

Childcare, I cannot imagine trying to work and feed/care for/entertain a 9 month old full-time.

If covid is your concern, look into a nanny (even part time). It’s honestly exhausting and very difficult to care for a baby and work at the same time. Many daycares have excellent covid precautions and a near 0 transmission rate.
Yes unfortunately daycare has been something my wife and I are afraid of with Covid-19 and the cases here in our area. Plus it’s a bit expensive. So looking for additional options. Although I’m really considered daycare even it just for part time a couple hours a day
We kept our little one home until 18 months with both my SO and I WFH (finally had a spot open up at a daycare where we were waitlisted and put her in daycare a couple weeks ago). At that age, we would rotate between floor time, the skip hop activity center, and a Nuna leaf. She was also pretty good at independent play so I just put some books out and her lovevery toys and she would keep herself amused for awhile.
Give them a remote that doesn't work, or any toy that makes really annoying loud sounds (shout out to Larry the lion from vtech!) . But make sure they don't eat it 😂🦁
My good friend and his wife sponsor an au pair and this has really helped them with managing the children and their careers. Everyone in the house is vaccinated and the do limit their outside exposer to new people and so far they are doing well.
Buy a lot of toy. Get a huge baby gate so your baby has a nice area to crawl or walk around. It’s easier now since they are still small. I work from home with my baby until 14m and i reached my breaking point. He was running around playing things he not supposed to or screaming. I ended up sending him to daycare and he is loving it ! He is people person so he loves daycare ! I was afraid of Covid too but I can’t keep him home forever or until the vaccine is available to younger child. There are a few covid cases at the school but all are very mild and no symptoms. I hired a nanny too before sending to daycare but he was screaming crying asking for me in front my of my office. he knew we are home so he did not behave well. We ended up just having nanny for 2 months
