Hi Fishies! (Is that what we are? I’m going with it)
I just came across a Google Research and Insights role that got me SUPER excited and I was about to apply when I had the idea of seeing if anyone would be willing to give me a referral. I understand (and respect) that most of you Googlers on here feel that a referral is only useful if you know the person but I would be happy to jump on the phone to give you some info about me. It would mean so much! 4 YOE at a major audio steaming service

Dont sleep and doctors appointments obviously you don't go on a million interviews.

It’s very easy now that everything is virtual - you just block off “personal” time on your calendar and nobody has to know what you’re doing during that time. I changed out of my suit and back into casual clothes after my interviews so nothing looked suspicious on zoom calls.
You lie. Sucks but only way to do it. I had multiple dr appointments, personal emergencies that made me unavailable for big projects, etc. Try not to pack too many long interviews in one day as they can be pretty exhausting.
But yeah, so much easier now that things are remote. Just say you have a call and that’s it.
Definitely be selective where you interview. I also found that morning interviews were easier to pull off as well. Good luck!
