Yeah man working at one of the most prestigious and decorated agencies in the industry would really screw you over
Thanks for the clarification! Yeah, I'm trying to balance the network it could afford me vs. the type of work it will put in my book. I'd probably want like one VR/AR thing in there, I guess?

Congrats. You're my hero. First comes digital. Then comes pharma. That's the downward spiral. I'm sure loads will comment that I am old fashioned, but I would rather work on TV concepts than a site or banners.
That said, if you get a high enough position at R/GA (CD or above), it may "look good on your resume/round out your book."
That’s 100% untrue. It’s all about the work and the connections. If you already have a solid book of traditional work, why not get more digital experience? It will make you more marketable in the end.
Speaking from experience, there’s nothing worse than working under a CD who only has ever done film. They’re like deer in the headlights when it comes to anything outside of that.
Go learn something.
I did it. Was 100% traditional. Then went to RGA as an ACD. Was tedious. But good learning. Got promoted to CD and then bounced. In my case it was better for my resume than my book. Don’t regret it. Back then RGA had a better mix of traditional and digital. Not sure what they do now. You won’t stall if you pick the right shop.
Almost 3 years. And yes it was during the whatnot ;)
At some point you’re going to need digital experience to get your next job. You may even enjoy it. I can’t imagine you’ll get away with never doing digital work and becoming a CD. Hell you may even have really enjoy it- it’s a different kind of problem solving.

It’s a very good set of skills to learn, and add to your book. Unfortunately, a lot of the digitally focused agencies (R/GA included) aren’t doing much good creative work.
So just make sure wherever you go, it’s a place that will get you a portfolio piece per year.
